You have to laugh at people saying 'he's too slow for this type of match,
he'll get done for pace against Eto and co' but ffs he's played against
nippy and pacy strikers all his career and very rarely gets done,
his positional sense, experience and intelligence gets him out of trouble
more often than not,why shoul this game be any different? *hopes he hasn't jinxed it*

I'd be amazed if he didn't start in both games against Barca.

Still think that Agger is the better player, but he's still raw on his positioning. So, I agree, Hyppia may be a good option for us against Barca.

Its Hypia/Carra all the way for me on this one.
Agger doesnt have the experience for a game of this magnitude just yet.
Big games call for big players and Sami wont let us down IMO

This season when Hyypia have played against quick passing teams.....

            Arsenal 3-6 CC.

            Arsenal 0-3 PL.

            Man U 0-2 PL.

He isn't good enough against the best teams anymore if Rafa plays with just two central defenders.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

Hyypia only played in two of our six group games in the CL. I think there is a reason to that.

Hyypia is one of my favourite players but he isn't fast enough for the european games anymore. Thankfully Rafa have noticed that.

I agree I am not confident when Hyppia plays too but he would bring experience. Barca doesn't play a long ball game, and Rafa has played Sami mostly against teams playing it long against us.

To be fair to Agger though, he's an established international for Denmark, so i'm sure he'll have played some fairly big games at some point or another.

TBH, i think us lot on here are worrying far more about Barcelona than Rafa or the players will be.
