All the euphoria over the takeover quickly drained away for me after the dismal effort against Newcastle. The cracks that have been there for the last 2-3 years were well and truly opened up again. I know this is stating the bleedin obvious but we need at least 1 truly world class striker , a defender with some pace (i love Agger but he's slow and so is the rest of our backline) and pace and quality on the wings.I hope Gonzo comes good.

Man U , Arsenal, Chelsea rarely loose these sort of games do they? Some people will say Im over- reacting, its only 1 game, etc, etc but we couldnt unlock Everton either. Yes it was a crappy day to play football but class sides win these types of games and this has been happoening to LFC too much over the last few seasons.Maybe Garcia would have made the difference in these 2 games as he is capable of producing something from nowhere.

Anyway, for me, the last 2 games has put into perpsective where I think the club is at. These deficiencies are well known and Rafa hes not been able to get the players he has really wanted. Hopefully he willl be able to now but i think we are 2 years away from winning the title.

We played Newcastle away and it was a honest game were too teams tried to play attacking football. We played well, so did they. They were more clinical in front of goal, but there was nothing between the two sides. The title has long gone this season but we still are in with a very good shout in the Champions Lg and we still can catch Chelsea. Lets see what happens in the Summer. Although I an over the moon that George and Tom have bought us I do not doubt for one moment they know how to run a championship achieving club. They will make us great off the field and help Rafa makes us great on the field. We gave the title away as we always do at the beginning of the season.

We have the best defense in the League, till this game we were the in form team in the League. We have been playing some great football and we got beat by a resurgent Newcastle side, Liverpool V Newcastle is always for me the best game of the season, they are always entertaining and can go either way because they are usually played in the best spirit.

Sure the result was disappointing but I cant fault the performance. With the exception of Risse I thought he was genuinely poor.

Yep, a lot of what you say is correct. I guess what Im also saying though is that to be a genuine contender we have to win these sort of games against the evertons and newcastles. Look at what Arse did with Wigan. Finding a late goal is something they and Manu do consistently. I think we are 2 years away from having the type of side that grind out a win. I cant think of a game this year in the league where we have come from behind to win Yes, Risse, is having a very, very poor season and is a liability at times.

With all due respect, Arsenal at the moment should not be mentioned in the same breath as us. I watched that game at they were poor, very poor and got lucky, very lucky. Leman was lucky to be on the pitch as was Henry for their antics, as always a lot of flair but not much end product in the final 3rd. Wigan had a very solid shout for a peno turned down at 1 nil up. Arsenal are not the kind of team who grind out results hence why they are below us in the table right now.

Chelsea in my opinion are a very very lucky side, take Drogba and Terry out of that team and they would be in 5th place for sure. They rarely win convincingly which considering how much they have spent on that team is shocking. At times its like watching 10 Momo’s playing with blue shirts, a very physical effective team, terrible to watch. Chelsea are always going to be the Team to catch because the can a do buy the absolute best players in every position on the planet, not only can they afford to pay silly transfer fees but No football club on the planet can compete with them on Player salaries. It’s a difficult task we have overhauling them make no mistake. It is not our god given right to be above Chelsea we have to earn it. I don’t think losing away to Newcastle is indicative of our problems on the road to glory. For me its games against Bolton and Blackburn and picking up something from the away games against the top 4 teams is the key to the title.

We have a very very solid realistic foundation for success in the lg, we need a few more pieces to the puzzle and we will be set.

Lets not forget fortune did not favor us at the beginning of the season with that fixture list and injuries which was just like a open invitation for hunting season for the press, we have recovered well and are in the hunt albeit out of the race, but not by much. I see genuine quality all of the pitch in our team. We have a title winning goal keeper between the sticks and a title winning defense, which are two things that are a minimum if you are going to be serious contenders.

I have to say I am starting to see why some people have been on Risses back, that for me was one of his worse performances in a red shirt.

Still we have the Scum, Arsenal and Barca to come to our manner were we are second to none. Plenty to look forward to.

As for the Scum, begrudgingly you have to give it to them, they are playing good football and doing all the right things. Worryingly enough their squad is starting to look very solid again.

Some of the reactions on here were laughable, even during the game. One minute we looked like we'd tank them and everyone was happy, next minute a lucky break from a clearance and a penalty and we're the worst team ever.

Sure, people like to get their frustrations out and sometimes do it irrationally, but reading some of the **** on here you'd think we hadn't just been on a 10 game unbeaten run
