on kewel, i hoe he comes back they way he was, he was brilliant last season, but i didn't relise it untill i watch a few games from last season again, i was to busy giving him a hard time back then, he was fantastic and took alot of pressure of our midfield and thats exactly what we need now...
    on the part about Kewell-

On the part about Finnan- , his crossed are accurate, but they are not "good" crosses. They have no pace on them, they loop through the air, and give defenders every chance to clear them. Crosses from deep need pace.

Hamill must be in that list, too. As well as that Swedish player I can't get close to spelling correctly and Jordi Brouer.
I'm playing all the right notes. Not necessarily in the right order. I'll give you that, sunshine.

Very true. I think there are a couple of names that I couldn't remember. It would be great to see a new "Owen/Fowler/Gerrard" from the Acadamy. Long overdue one might say.

Finnan is an oldschool fullback. I wouldn't say that he cant go forward; He can, but he rarely opts to do so. The few times we have seen him take on players with the ball he actually succeeds quite often. Problem it's not in his nature and he doesn't fell comfortable doing this. The few time he does get to the backline I think he crosses it well. Many times we see he cross from the sideline halfway up the pitch. That's difficult for the forwards to work with. We do need a modern fullback to reach the next level. Hell, we need two.

PS: The notion that Finnans crosses is the reason that Crouch can't head the ball to safe his life, is nothing short of ridiculous.

There's no question about that IMO. Anyone who thinks that Finnan should leave really hasnt a clue about the game, or is at least clouded by the celebrity element of football rather than examining the facts on the pitch.

Rafa has not tried to get rid of Finnan since he arrived (granted at the very beginning of rafa reign it looked like he might go) but he has sought to find a cover player for his position given that Finnan is the only player for his position at the moment.

As for offering nothing going forward, just check out the statistics in relation to goal assists and you'll find evidence to the contrary of your argument. I'm sick of saying this but, simply because Finnan is a low-profile strightforward player with a quiet personality, this does not mean that he is not a great player. Consistent and dedicated, I'd be horrified if he was sold. I'm 100% certain that this will not happen. Any manager would be mad to let him go.
