Thanjk you.
Paul.S
thats one game as i have said he did have some decent games, but for supposedly the best winger in europe on form i would be hoping he could do it in more than a hanfull of games!
I'm normally not a praying man, but if you're up there, please save me Superman.
We had a "fit" Harry Kewell last season and whilst being solid, he produced 3 goals and 3 assists. It's not good enough. Harry Kewell isn't good enough.
the vitriol displayed by some on this thread about one of our own players is simply ridiculous.
the bottom line is that kewell has les than 18 months on his contract, is not worht renewing at the current wage so we will sell him for between 1-2m in the summer (that fee will be thetops we will get after paying off his final year)
or we will lose him for a free in 2008.
I for one am not angry with kewell as it is clear that he has been dogged by injuries in his time with us. i am more dissappointed as i was very excited by his signing and had high hopes for him at Liverpool. I was dubious about his form even for leeds but was hoping that playing for us and a bit of maturity would have bought the best out of him but sadly itwasn;t to be
One thing i would say about last season is that while he didn't set the world alight, he did give our midfield a natural balance and width that allowed stevie to roam infield from the right hand side.
sometimes with players its about what you do for the team overall rather than your individual performance and i thought he has key in this regard for us.
he started 30 games last year i think and you only have to see how we have struggled in comparison down that side this year to see how he has been missed.
Yes he should probably leave- a fresh start might just put it all behind him and he can salvage something from what should have been a glittering career- but he doesn't deserve this level of abuse from his own fans

I think this is especially spot on.
He gave us balance, kept the ball and used it smartly.
The abuse he gets is ridiculous.
Most knowledgeable fans my arse...

i don't think its abuse i just think that there are alot of fans who were expecting so much only to be let down time and again and its only natural to vent a bit of frustration.

he is the best left winger in europe on form you lot havent got a ****ing clue what you are talking about, pathetic
nobody is saying his is crap mate. Well atleast i'm not anyway.
The point I would make is, for the money we pay on wages, we dont get enough of a return, and we have no guarintees with him. I just think the money could be better spenton a player who could contribute more to the cause.
I think Kewell is a class act when injury free.
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'
"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.
* After Tommy Lawrence had let in a fluke goal between his legs
Maybe we should sell Xabi? He played in 53 games and only scored five goals. That's sh*t stats.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.
According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.
