24, but i see the games of years gone by and the stats. The glory years of yester year with countless medals for the likes of Souness,Kenny etc.....Stevie will have to win alot more with us and improve even more to be up there with those mentioned

I guess I'm alone in seeing the title and hoping this was going to be about Wagner Love being the final piece in our jigsaw.

The start of the article trys very hard to stir up uncertainty doesn't. A subtle change in Stevies words from "keep showing me some love" to saying that Liverpool need to show him more love. In the end it is a bit of a non story - basically Stevies default option is to stay here unless something serious happens. I can't say I'm all that surprised even if it is a good thing.

I do believe that the one and only true LFC lover (or sth like that) is Robbie Fowler. Remember the day he signed the contract to secure the second coming - he couldn't wait to sign it. And then you have Stevie who has given us so much ****e over two summers... :whatever:

But the fact that he has stayed surely shows you that he loves this club. He went to the brink after Istanbul, but when it came down to it, he couldn't leave the club, because he loves this club and this is where he belongs.

Although people say look at what people like Souness won, he was surely better, you also have to consider the teams that these people played in, they were surrounded by class on the pitch, a team of champions. Unfortunately Stevie G hasn't, but that is changing, and the trophies are going to flow into Anfield again.

“If I weren’t a player I’d probably share the exact same views as all the Kopites,” Gerrard said. “Just because you have got all that money doesn’t make you a big club. You’ve got to earn the right to be a big club, win a load, have the history there. I didn’t ever say I would only go to Chelsea if I was leaving. If it ever came to it that I did have to move, I’d be more comfortable playing in a different country. I’d find it really strange and awkward coming back and playing against the club I’ve been at since I was 8.”

                    He does make a point.

It's a two-way thing this "love" though. SG's form this year has been so-so. I have to say I find this all rather unnecessary really from SG. Just get on and play.

Waits in anticipation for all the Gerrard to Real, Barca, AC Milan or Cork summer speculation

i agree. even in his beloved central position he has been nowhere near the heights of last season. its as well that crouch and dirk have stepped up as the midifeld generally has been poor this season in terms of goal return (how we miss the wee spaniard in that regard)

there's nothing in that article that is any different from any other professional footballer. Says he wants to stay but doesn't ruleout leaving at some point- just in case

The cynical side of me interprets this interview as a "give me a 150k a week or i'll do one to spain". great player, i love the way he plays and would be delighted for him to play his whole career for us but i don't trust anythign that comes out of his mouth in regards to his future.

                            Eh Stevie, Stevie...

To me, the only footballer that's really in love with the club is Francesco Totti. He could have gone to almost every bigger club than Roma, but he stayed there without asking for "love from the club" and these kind of bollocks! When clubs and agents chased his signature he told them to fcuk off and quick as a flash signed a new Roma deal. There wasn't, isn't and wont be any shadow of a doubt in mind! And look at AS Roma in the last few years... What did they win? Fcuk all!

He isn't like SG who wants the "love from the club" even though everyone treat him like he's a piece of a priceless Chinese porcelan! Rafa is building a team around him, he is a indespensible for the club, but he still cries for "love"... What a plonker!

He is a legend in the making, but ffs, if you love a club, like SG says, you don't consider going to another club, especially to fookin Chelsea!

All in all, if SG had half the love Totti has for his local club, we wouldn't be scared that he'd leave Liverpool for 2 summers in succession!

All nice and well that Stevie lad.
I would have hoped for better performances on the pitch though.
He hasn't been anything special so far, but then again, we have high expectations of him.
