    The Crow - Voronin

It looks like Maestro may have right.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

Voronin, he plays for Leverkusen and is available on a free in the summer.

Is he any good? Is he a 'Zenden/Pellegrino' free or a 'Babbel/Mcallister' free?

I don't think he is good enough. It would be better to give Pongolle a chance IMO.

It's in the Daily Mail. I wouldn't be surprised if that ****e of a paper nicked it from here. Maestro broke the Crow story about a month or so ago.

In light of the takeover I wouldn't be surprised if Voronin was a pre-investment target as he is on a freebie in the summer.....unless Rafa sees him as the 4th striker and intends to replace one of the other three with a real goal poacher.

How many times have you seen him play?

Was there not some talk last week that he was off to Celtic?

Blimey, Maestro called this two weeks or so ago. FFS. Surely our sights are now set a touch higher than Voronin on a free?

I think he actually mentioned it a lot longer ago than that, but only really put his nackers on the chopping block by confirming his name etc a few weeks back.

                      Well yes.

Hopefully long enough ago for it to have been a bargain bucket type signing lined up pre-takeover. I know we're not gonna have £120m to spend, but surely, given the assumed boost to our transfer kitty, we'll now be looking elsewhere?

You'd think so on the face of it. Although maybe Rafa rates him that highly he would want him regardless of money available. I've never really seen him play tbh so wouldn't like to guess. Or perhaps Rafa plans to ship out a striker on top of Robbie's likely retirement, meaning we get two coming in rather than just one?

Liverpool in pre-contract talks with Voronin?

I was close to believing this (well it is tribalfootball!), until I saw where they had got it from.

                          tribalfooball.com - February 16, 2007

Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez is close to agreeing a pre-contract deal for Ukraine hitman Andriy Voronin.

The Bayer Leverkusen striker is available on a free in the summer - and Benitez has stolen a march on a host of interested clubs, says The ***.

Voronin, 27, played the entire 90 minutes of the midweek UEFA Cup win over Blackburn but the German outfit have been reluctant to renew his current deal.

Rafa has acknowledged that we only need top players now to improve the team so i'd say this is either a replacement for Fowler or total bollocks.
