You can't help but think that if he was all that good Bayern or Dortmund would have had him by now. For a 4th striker I prefer a really top class player who is a bit past their best. United do this perfectly in Larsson & Solsjkaer. At their best both were top class and can still do a job but only for a limited period in games. I just think Voronin has never been at that level in his career.
I'd have gone for someone like Montella, on loan at Fulham. Top class in his day but probably past his best. however, would still be happy not to be 1st choice at a big club but still has great ability when required.
That's a fair comment - it seems many posters are expecting us to have a 15Million quid 4th striker....

I'm not that impressed with him, tbh.
I was at a Ukraine match in the WC, and he struck me as one of these players who always look really lively, but aren't actually that dangerous.
I would be HUGELY disappointed if I thought Rafa saw him as a replacement for Crouch or Bellamy, but I'll give him the benefit of the doubt because

        * I'm 100% sure he's coming in for Robbie
        * I'm also very confident that Rafa will bring in a top striker at the end of the season to replace CB or PC.

          Fair enough.

On what I've seen of him - which is limited admittedly - I wasn't impressed either. Thought he was average at the world cup but then most off the Ukrainian team were, and when we played Leverkusen in the European cup 2 years ago he did **** all in the 2 games against us.

Maestro first announced this on est1892 on the 16/1/07 at 8.25pm. Hats off to the Maestro. Whether it comes to anything is irrelevant. One of the members est1892 was a full month ahead of the media and the rest of the Net and it didn't cost £30

Voronin is a very hard working striker and Rafa likes them a lot.

So far hard work has been the number one priority when Rafa have signed a striker.

Bellamy, Crouch, Fowler and Kuyt works very hard.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

If its a choice, I think CB will be shown the door. Crouch offers so much to the team - he is disliked by alot of other fans and a proportion of our own fans - mainly due to the way he looks

If CB is replaced - Id hope we look at Ashton or Yakubu from the EPL or if further afield the usual suspects from Spain
                    We need better attacking players!

                    Torres aint enough

I can't believe that there's been 100 posts on this subject and no-one has mentioned what a **** nickname 'The Crow' is.

Don't know anything about this lad, apart from what I've read here.

On a freebie it's probably not a bad deal - time will tell I suppose! From what I can gather he's an experienced international having played at the World Cup too, he's coming not as first choice but as back-up and will probably be willing to take his time and play a bit-part role for us. He can obviously score the odd goal going by his recent record and will be a decent 'sub' for us when called upon.

Rafa likes his hard-working players and this lad certainly sounds like one, going by what people are saying about him.

On a freebie I don't think it's as bad a deal as some are making out, and if he's replacing Fowler as some suggest then that's fine by me as Robbie's only played a handful of games this season and is there are back-up when needed. Also, if it allows us to spend bigger on a main striker then great!

If Marseille signs him then we will get £8m.
