That is a much more detailed report, and if true a massively damaging one.

That's it though isn't it? If true. I think that anything less than what's reported is a non-story so what's to say that it hasn't been exaggerated?

This bit is stupid - 'Tycoon co-chairmen George Gillett and Tom Hicks who invested £470 million were said to be furious that their name has been dragged through the mud' - yeah really, they're probably only finding out about it now like the rest of us particularly with their busy rich lives being lived several thousand miles away.

I'm sure they would have known about the incidents reported well before a news paper report.

If Bellamy has doen that, and I guess time will tell, then thee is no doubt that he's a goner. Riise on the other hand has, if the reporst are true, done nothing wrong.

And the Newcastle "rape" incidents that seemed to go away without as much as a whimper. It was all over the press and it was a raging controversy. I don't remeber the press making that big a deal about it when the story dissappeared, do you?

I'm sure that the players involved will be focused firmly on the job in hand and not the fact that 2 of our players had a drunken fight. I like a drink but I can handle it where as some people can't and when people can't handle drink they tend to get aggressive. Alot of bad things happen through alchohol because your emotions are exaggerated. This has been a major strom in a tea cup IMHO.

We've had quotes from an LFC spokesman in more than one newspaper now Kurt, it's clear something has happened. Of course as you say, it's very likely stuff has been exaggerated or even that blame has been laid at the feet of the wrong people.

However I think by now we can all see that it is at the very least highly probable that we've just had players involved in something seriously unsavoury, that team morale will have been damaged in the run up to a massive game, and that the name of our club has been tarnished. It's ****ing depressing. I can't see there being enough of a turnaround now that we can just lay back and have a chuckle about Barca's problems.

No not at all but the point I'm trying to make is that a drunk slag looking to make some cash and a name for herself off the back of a premiership footballer isn't a story is it? Where as 3 premiership footballers raping a poor unsuspecting girl is. Whilst the two stories are totally different the level of exaggeration and lack of facts from the press are the same.

At then end of the day if Bellamy and Riise play against Barca then we know it's bollocks. If Bellamy or Riise don't play then we know that there must be something in it.
