Dya fancy a tricky little brazilian?

No, not that sort of brazilian, you filthy feckers...

    Robinho, available for £17m apparently...

Man Utd chase Real Madrid star

Manchester United are among clubs who are chasing Real Madrid winger Robinho, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.

Robinho has been frozen out at Real under coach Fabio Capello, and would welcome a move away from Madrid.

Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is a long term fan of the Brazilian winger, and tried to sign him while he was still with Santos over two years ago.

AC Milan is also considering making a move for the Brazilian who can be signed for £17 million.

If we end up minted, i'd take him.

Quality player from what I've seen, great footwork and seriously quick, with a good eye for goal too. Possibly a bit lightweight for the Prem but then again it doesn't trouble some players with genuinely sublime skill - Zola for example. He's of the calibre we need to look to, but would he adapt well? I'm not sure I've seen enough of him to say myself...

The risks would be obvious, but our problem is that we dont usually take these risks with players like him, we take them with nobodies.

As i say, if we're minted, i'd take the chance. What's £17m if you're minted?

right wing, left wing or a striker.

not saying i would want him for 17m, he has not lived up to the hype for when he was bought to real madrid IMO.

            Wherever Rafa decides

Could make the difference between being held by smaller clubs who visit anfield and wear blue shirts (Everton, Pompey, Blackburn)...and actually breaking down their rearguard action, and securing 3 points.

Maybe a replacement for the welsh golfclub-swinging mental patient that attacked our average LB for refusing to sing with him in a karaoke?

No. We could sign better players than him for that sort of money, like Diego for example.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

That report mentions Ferguson but I think it was Wenger who was keen on him before he moved to Madrid...

Just because we have been taken over and there is a possibility of us being able to compete in the upper price range of the transfer market, it doesnt mean we should waste money on over inflated fees for an average player. He has done very little too impress at Real......

What had Mascherano done to impress at WHU?

                          He's worth about 10m, maximum.

Lots of tricks and flicks, very few assists and even fewer goals.

I'd love to see a player like him at our club, but because he's not an out and out goalscorer it would probably only work in a 5-2-3 system that we've played this season a few times, ie

                              Reina

                              Carragher Agger Hyypia

                              Finnan? Riise?

                              Alonso Gerrard

                              Bellamy Robinho
                              Kuyt/Crouch
                              (Villa??)

Something like that anyway. Would be great to watch put it that way.

PS The formation didn't work out, went all skew. You know what I mean though.
