Who says we have to replace Xabi with a Xabi marK II?
I read recently that we are in for another CM.Same article said Xabi was most likely to leave due to a number of reasons.
1.He`s homesick,as is his family.
2.He`s not on his game
3.He`s more likely to fetch a big price as the Spanish teams interested have the most dosh.
4.Rafa rates SG,Momo and Masch(If he doesn`t flop) and Xabi is the only one that`s expendable if another big name CM can be found.(Zenden will also probably leave for a small profit)

Aguero is a Rooney type. Furthest back he could play is as the forward playing in between the lines.

BTW Got any direct quotes? I've never heard anything like that about Xabi. And I scour the whole internet for anything relating to Liverpool.

And BTW Xabi is a big name player. I can't think of anything else that could hold down his role in our team. Going out on a limb here, but IMHO, both Xabi and El Jefe are in the top 5 holding midfielders in the world.

I spend hours on the net,God knows where i came across the atricle,i`ll probably come across it again and will copy and paste it again.like everything it`s speculation,half truths and rumours,but this atricle was well put together and didn`t have the usual "A spokesman said".
It`s not beyond the realms of possibility that R`afa will change our style of play when the new money arrives and leave xabi surplus to requirements in a new formation.

You are on the limb, but I can´t name many better holding midfielders. Makelele is up there still of course, not seen Gago enough to judge but I guess there is always Vieira but there are not many players in the Xabi/Mascher mould of genuine quality.

Disregarding the rumours about Xabi being homesick, if anyone was expendable in that midfield it would be Momo...and Zenden of course.

Not having a pop, but i think these lineup thingys are a bit silly, i understand you may want to show where a new signing could play.
but Rafa is so unpredictable with his selection, its impossible to say this is what we will be like next season, especially as the opposition is how Rafa bases his team selection on in the majority of cases.
