I suppose you didn't think much of Molby? Xabi's positioning is brilliant, he puts in more tackles than anyone, and manages to be our finest passer of the ball at the same time. He is great at helping the team keep possession, always available for a short pass and always sidestepping challenges to find a simple ball to someone in a better position or a nice diagonal pass /through ball.
I wonder if you're putting too much weight on last night's performance. He was defo off the pace for that one but hasn't had many games. The way he performed last night wasn't typical in my view, and the way he shifts the ball around and exerts such influence in midfield at what is still a tender age is impressive in my book. I wonder if last nights display is casting a bit of a shadow over your judgement over him generally. I've no doubts about Xabi myself.

Lets not forget, Xabi is a player who came be off the pace then pop up with a ball like he did for the winner.

Well quite. As I say, no doubts from me. He did have an off day yesterday but his pre season is at an earlier stage than many. A quality player in my view.
