didnt think the article was that bad really, it's fair to sy he's written some cack over the years but the same can be said of pretty much everyone who writes. the last line is what should be emphasised, genius is what we've had and the others have a long way to catch up.

I'm going against the grain a bit here but I do think that people use the "history" argument way too much. He comes at it at the wrong angle by attacking us for singing about history as if we mean it literally but there is a good argument that says we are jealous of Chelseas new found success.

To be honest no one sang that they lacked history when they were ****. I dislike the fact that a lot of their fans seem to know sod all about football, started caring only once Abramovich took over the club. The money that has gone into Chelsea while it in the short term increased competition (i.e. one more club can now reasonably challenge for the league) it has come at a high cost in terms of what has happened to the game.

I really do think that histoy of glory should be something that we rejoice in not something we try to use to belittle other clubs. Especially when it makes us look jealous and like we are living in the past.

He does have a point though, Chelsea do have a history, it's just not as good as ours, to be honest, I'm not keen on those sort of songs, cause if I was a Chelsea fan, I'd be thinking, well, were are creating a history, by winning things now, and that's what's worrying us, its true.

I'm very much a person who thinks for today and doesn't dwell on the past too much, celebrate past success yes, but don't gloat over it, at the end of the day, it's their current success which makes us sing those songs, we wouldn't be singing them if we had won the odd title in the last few years cause we wouldn't be that desperate.

but he can write wht amounts to a lot of sense. yes he is a bit too london centred but the same can be said for us when reflecting on other teams.

we should also help chelsea embrace their proud history, facism, hooliganism and a chairman who had such high regard for his customers that he introduced electric fenses. and if that past is too unpalatable remind them that they cant fill a stadium.
