    Barca not up for it?

It looked like we got given the hardest draw in the CL, but after last night i'm not so sure. We fought well granted, but they looked like a shadow of their former selves (last year mainly) and in general i've been unimpressed with them all year. They get all the rave reviews but they struggled through their group and last night didn't seem to have the heart for the fight.

    Your thoughts?

They're obviously not playing as well as they were last season but they are TOP of La Liga still.

I couldn't care less if they were 'up for it' or not - although they certainly looked 'up for it' to me - we executed our plan brilliantly. We were brave, resolute, astute, disciplined and we even created lots of chances.

    They rarely lose at home.

Who knows how well they would've played without players like Momo disrupting them at every turn?

the one thing that annoys me is no one is giving liverpool any credit for last nights performance they say barcelona played badly. why because liverpool did not allow them to play well.

just heard that fat ****** david platt on SSN saying the mancs or chelsea are the best bet for the cl and we have no chance

After seven minites ii thought they were well up for it.Rafa`s team talk at half time got us going and we took control of the game, they just couldn`t cope with us last night, nothing to do with being up for it.

But they're still top of La Liga so they can't be as bad as you say. Beating any Barcelona team at the Nou Camp is an incredible result for anyone.

You should know better by now! When we lift number 6, which I seriously beginning to believe we might do, they'll still be the same.

I just hope we beat them at Anfield as well - we should.

Eto'o is still out injured and Messi have just begun playing again.

They are two of the best players in the World and even a team like Barca will miss them very much. Both of them are key players for Barcas quick playing style.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

Garcia was out and Momo was just coming back. We seemed to cope OK.

Ronnie has basically played 3 consecutive year with no rest, Eto'o has been out, plus it seems like the entire team (excpet Puyol) has lost some intensity.

They still have the individual taklent to win things this season, but even if they do it's obvious that they need a bit of a shake up this summer.

                        Good for us though.

Its questionable as to how much better Barca would have played with Eto up front, Saviola was superb.

So what if Messi is just back so is Momo and we still have HK out plus add to that it was Arbeolas first game, please take nothing away from Liverpool we where absolutely suberb especially in the second half.

I think Valencia might have a harder draw for us.

Hey though,we just beat Barca 2-1 at the Nou Camp.

They are not key players for us in the same way as Eto'o and Messi is for Barca.

We can replace Momo with Gerrard and Garcia with Pennant for example. It won't change our playing style.

Barca can't replace Messi and Eto'o in the same way. Guily or Iniesta have played instead of Messi but they are not the same typ of player. Gudjohnsen or Saviola have played instead of Eto'o and again they are not the same type of players.

Barca have only more or less played with one playing style with Rijkaard and that is a problem for them when key players to make that system work is missing.
