    Yesterdays T-Time Edition:

    NOU'LL NEVER WALK ALONE

Nobody enjoys being reminded of the tomfoolery they engaged in after a few pints too many, so Liverpool's players will be hoping to get a result in the Nou Camp tonight in a bid to rid themselves of the throbbing pain of last week's training camp hangover once and for all. The drunken antics of professional footballers less than a week before the biggest match of their season means that a hiding at the hands of Barcelona is unlikely to be greeted with a rendition of You'll Never Walk Alone, even from travelling fans as delud ... sorry, loyal as those who follow Liverpool. Not that Rafa Benitez seems overly concerned.

"I was surprised by what happened but their response was perfect for me," he ole-ole-ole-ed, upon being quizzed about the wedge (or was it a nine-iron) between Craig Bellamy and John Arne Riise, not to mention the monotonously predictable stupidity of Messrs Fowler and Pennant, among others. "They apologised immediately, said they'd made a mistake and that they were sorry," he continued as, to a ginger Norwegian, his players bawled a note-perfect karaoke version of Elton John's Sorry Seems To Be The Hardest Word.

Any neutral observers (ie people who want to see Liverpool get thumped) expecting lots of goals in the Nou Camp to ease the pain of last night's trio of snoozathons featuring British teams in Big Cup could be disappointed, not least because Jamie Carragher's been talking up the merits of a scoreless draw. "That would represent a great result for us," he aye-ayed. "They're European champions and they have very few weaknesses. But every team has one or two deficiencies and the manager has been working with us to expose them for the last 10 days." With the need to prevent Ronaldinho being of paramount importance to Liverpool's hopes of progressing to the last eight, let's hope Benitez's instructions haven't been forgotten in an alcoholic fug.
