Usual bollocks. Players moving on, journos trying to wring one last article from it.
What have I learned, Mr Mackay? Three things. One - bide your time. Two - keep your nose clean. And three - don't let the *******s grind you down

I agree that the journalism is the usual b*ll*cks, but am I the only one who didn't like Bellamy's celebration?

The club and Bellamy admit that something happend in Portugal, and whatever the extent of his actions he has been partially responsible for tarnishing the name of the club. To then re-enact the alleged attack suggests he really doesn't take it seriously. JAR on the other hand was dignity personified.

True about JAR, but I doubt Bellamy would have celebrated like that if he knew that it would cause problems with the rest of the squad.

To me the fact that he did it (and whoever scored first was planning to do it apparently) shows that the entire squad have got over it and were ready to have a laugh about it, JAR included.

No one knows what actually happened between them, but it sounds like nothing more than a drunken row between mates, which we've all had, it's the kind of thing you get over the next day and have a laugh about.

Of course, when we do it, we can't go out in front of 100,000 people and score two great goals though can we?
Dreams come true. Without that possibility, nature would not incite us to have them.

Gerrard was laughing as he did it so it was obviously no problem.

So what did happen to his knees?

great post. The media have been looking for something to pounce upon since Robbie's infamous snorting celebration. If anything, the focus should be on Robbie Keane, not only for his 'hot pistols' celebration, but for the smugness on display. But the media loathing of all things scouse does make you wonder if it is all a big conspiracy.

Thought this was the best paragraph in the whole piece:
Before the legend grows, let us be clear that Liverpool's outstanding victory at the Nou Camp owed nothing whatsoever to a Portuguese karaoke night. It had little to do with bonding and spirit. It was a triumph of the head, not the heart. Once he gets you where he wants you, there is no tougher nut in Europe to crack than the one that sits on the shoulders of Rafael Benitez. Barcelona were bad on the night - just like Bayern Leverkusen, Juventus and even Chelsea were bad on Liverpool's way to the 2005 final. Benitez is a specialist at making opponents under perform.
Although, I would think that the training camp did help aswell do a degree. Even the bust up helped. But yes, it's 95% down to Rafa's organisation.
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

              * After Tommy Lawrence had let in a fluke goal between his legs

Shaving accident, due to stiff, dense ginger knee hairs. Which due to UEFA rules, must be removed prior to al games.

They should focus on Keane because frankly, that celebration's crap!

I just can not see why Bellamy should be forced to publicly apologise for something that is essentially a private matter.

If he behaved that way in a game, then a public apology should rightly be demanded. If it happens behind closed doors, and all parties have put it beind them, and been punished appropriately, then that should be the end of the matter.
                      Oh I don't know.

It's amazing isnt it. Footballers seem to be the only people who cant have any sort of argument with thier workmates. At the end of the day, some young men (at my age 20 somethings are young!!) have a few drinks and fall out. How many of us have never had a physical argument with a mate? OK, the golf club thing sounds a bit OTT, but of course none of us were there, so we'll never know. Journalism has to be THE most hypocritical of professions.

Bellamy and Riise were just playing a round...
