Barca hold Alonso liking

In his first season I thought that xabi was phenomonal, I even got his name printed on my shirt and considered him one of the best players in the premiership. This season, PERSONALLY, I have felt that although at times he has been phenomonal, he has also not had the same impact as he did last season. I would not sell him at the moment BUT depending on how Mascherano goes, I would probably consider selling him for £25m nothing less. Cannot see him leaving and I believe priority number one for Rafa is getting an extension to his contract.

That implies that you'd take Carrick or Hargreaves over Alonso.... Are you sure?Originally posted by anfieldanfield View PostI'd sell for anything over 15m.Quote of the year :

You're turning into a bit of a stalker, aren't you ?Originally posted by rushscored4 View PostHis favourite team has, would and is...
Maybe 15m is too slim a price, certainly anything near 20m and I would consider selling.
I like Xabi, but I do think he's overated and would be better off in Spain where the style of play suits his game much better.
Besides, we cant keep Momo, Masher, Stevie and Alonso happy. One will be sold.

I think that alot of clubs would be interested in Xabi and it wouldn't surprise me to see a bid made but I think that he will still be here next season. It would be nice if we could see him sign his contract quite soon to stop the speculation though.Babel fanclub member # 4!!!

Barcelona could conceivably attract him, but I suspect it would need a huge offer for Rafa to accept.Quote of the year :
