The two teams of Liverpool FC

Was just looking through our squad and i think it's amazing how Rafa has been able to practically build 2 teams since he's been here, given that some of the players aren't LFC class but with our supposed extra spending power and all of the youth we have brought in it surely can't be long before we have 2 very good teams.

I mean lets look at them:

    ----------Kuyt Bellamy
    Gonzalez Gerrard Alonso Pennant
    ----Riise Carra Agger Finnan
    ------------Reina

    ---------Crouch Fowler
    Zenden Mascherano Sissoko Garcia
    ----Aurelio Hyypia ???? Arbeloa
    -------------Dudek

Sure theres other ways to arrange the formation but going with a 4-4-2, we're only short of CB, because I don't think Paletta is ready yet (if ever).

And we have a bit of dead weight that needs trimming, Dudek, Zenden, Fowler . But hopefully they can be replaced with Voronin, Padelli, Leto, thats also not even counting Harry Kewell.

We've had problems with Riise this season and hopefully Insua can impose himself on the squad before the end of the season.

But really, we probably only need a clinical striker, a RW and a CB in the summer, and we might actually have something like the 2 teams Rafa envisaged when he arrived here. That's also not even counting what we have in the reserves or the youth set up which seem to keep improving every transfer window.

Anyway was bored so just thought i'd mention it

Agreed. personally I think we are a striker, a RW, a LW, and a CB (all high quality) away from being a PL challenging team. I'd get shot of Zenden, Fowler, Dudek, and maybe even Riise. I also think Kewell will go. Pennant and Gonzo will be allowed a lot more time.

i must agree red al, but i think we need to get rid of riise at the end of the season, he is a defensive liability these days, and doesn't show the same level of fight anymore in the liverpool shirt.

It's even more impressive than that, he's probably got another squad or so of youngsters. How much has he spent total?

On the plus side....I think that we would get a decent price if we sell Riise....

He is well respected both here and on the continent.

I think you're forgetting how excellent Riise was last season. To say he's a liability is harsh. This season hasn't been his best though I agree.
JAR is a versatile left sided player - and there aren't many of them about I can tell you. Selling him would be madness IMP. And let's not fotget the important goals he contributes as well eh?

agree 100%, the criticism this season has been fair, but to sell him on the back of one naff season would be a bit mad, lets see how he goes next season
