I'm not sure about that, but i'm sure that "LFC reserves the right to refuse admission" or such like...

Not good enough really. The club should stick up a board saying something along the lines of "Offensive chanting will not be tolerated and any person using such language can and will be ejected". This will protect the rights of the stewards to eject the ****s in the crowd.

I agree with you on that, of course they should.

But any private venue always has the 'reserve the right to refuse admission' in their shpeel and that's enough, in a legal sense, to eject anyone.

There is a legal difference between refuse admission and ejecting. The stewards (apart from a conferred power of arrest for disorderly behaviour) are just agents of the club so I can understand them not getting too involved. Personally I think the Police should get involved and drive these feckers out. They are sick chants made by sick people.

I think they amount to the same thing mate.

Agree on the police, but the stewards should act as the go-between IMO.

I ain't getting on your case here mate...just got a genuine question.

What would you do...or how you would you feel/react, if you were stewarding in the Anny Road and the away fans next to you were shouting and gesturing about Hillsborough? Would you just to have to bite your lip and ignore it?
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

Well, I suppose if the police actually wanted to, they could do them for inciting violence. If a muslim cleric can be done for whipping a crowd into a frenzy that causes a riot, then surely it's a similiar situation?

Ive done the away end loads of times. I was on the ramp between there and the main stand yesterday.

Most of the time it comes down to the stewards ability to assess the situation.

Youre average steward gets £20 for the day. Depending whats going on, is it worth £20 to get in the way of blokes mouthing off? As much as people may be ***** mouthing off, they arent stupid. They know that if any trouble starts at all, in come the police and they dont get to go to a football match ever again and end up in the cells. As has been pointed out, Racist language isnt allowed. That gets stamped out any time its heard or seen. Funnily enough foul language isnt allowed but what can be done about it given 99% of people in there will be swearing? Throw everyone out? That inst possible.

Stewards on the devide most of the time deal with whats going on. If it starts to get nasty then they do something. I have in the past. People mouthing off across the devide, well, unless someone starts properly kicking off, sometimes its better to let it go on because otherwise you run the risk of making it worse.

Depends if its inciting racial hatred.
