No. Not at all. I'm not familiar with the sections. And Wharton's travel may have put us anywhere. I want to know what part of the ground is ok for my Dad to wear a scarf (if any). If we're there great, if not, fair enough, there'll be no colours on display.

Like Glove says, I don't wanna sound like a scaremonger but no WAY will your old man be able to wear a United scarf - not in any LFC section of the ground.

It's going to be hostile and frankly not very pleasant.

Last ManUre game I went to, there were a couple of lads in the Anfield Rd end in front of us, no colours but they did have Liverpool carrier bags (from the shop) with them. Anyway, turns out a few of the people around them suspected them to be ManUre fans and they got some serious abuse...frightening really when there were kids nearby but the way some people were reacting you'd think they were ready to rip them apart. Anyway, the stewards managed to get them out before anything kicked off.

To be honest mate, I'd make it clear to your old fella that ANY behaviour indicating that he's a Man U fan is very likely to cause a storm.

Sorry that's probably not want you want to hear, but best to know what environment you'll be in beforehand, than having to deal with it afterwards.

my uncle is a united fan living in Liverpool
anyway, he was at anfield before, not sure which stand, for a united game, and got a tap on the shoulder from the lads behind him, they somehow recognised he was a united supporter. the lads in question were from Dublin, and said dont worry, youll be alright with us behind ya. (my uncle was born in Ireland with a bit of a scouse accent moved over at about 18 etc).
Jst goes to show that its not all bad.
The same uncle, went to a game in old trafford before, with united colours on, got the **** kicked out of him many years ago cos the locas recognised a slight scouse twang off his voice, even though he was a united fan.

Don't disagree with anything you've said, however, I've only ever seen behaviour like that close up once at Anfield, but it that was enough. As far as I'm concerned if you're gonna run the the risk by sitting in the wrong section, you need to be aware of all the 'possibilities'.
