    Atmosphere V Barca

    Do you reckon the atmosphere will be up there with the Chelsea game of
    a few years ago? (2nd Leg Semi Final of the Champions League?)

    Obviously hope it is as even on telly you could there was a deafening wall of noise within Anfield but i'm worried about next tuesday as i hope it isn't watered down cos we are 2-1 up from the 1st leg whereas the Chelsea game, we drew 0-0 in the 1st leg hence all was to play for, same with this one obviously but i just hope the attenders at anfield next week will realise this tie is far from over and in doing so maybe staying a bit more subdued
    if you like.

    If it is an atmosphere like the Chelsea game a few years ago, the Barcelona players will not know what's hit em and it will definetely spur the lads on.

    Don't worry Marky, I'm already clearing my throat...

        Seriously though, I don't think anything will ever beat that Chelsea night. I couldn't speak for days afterwards!

        Barca will be special though, very special.

          Anyone holding a ticket in the Kop for Tuesday who really believes this tie is over can leave their ticket at the front for me. I'll be happy to put it to use...

              It wont be like Chelsea, you could feel something in the air for Chelsea, we hadnt won the Cup for ages, it was a Semi Final, against another team a lot of people were starting to despise. This will be great and 2-1 wont make a difference, no one thinks its over but it wont be Chelsea.

                I remember pics from the Juve game a few years ago where their players were shaking their heads and cupping hands to their ears because they couldn't hear each speak.

                  It wont be the same as Chelsea, nothing ever will be.

                  But it will be a very, very special atmosphere, no doubt about that.

                            See that's clever...I just asked for the ticket. Figured I'd have to stow away in the wheel-well of a 747 to get there.

                            <which, BTW, I would>

                            Since this result seems unlikely, I'll have to content myself with being the most boisterous drunk at the pub...ooo, I hope that Barca supporter comes back. He was singing and dancing his Catalan arse off when they went up one-nil...spent the rest of the match miserably munching his chips with friendly abuse ringing in his ears.

                              The only other European tie that would ever come close to the Chelsea game atmosphere wise would be playing United in the semis or the final.

                              It was an incredible night, by far the greatest I've experienced at Anfield.
