Rafa -- Some nice problems????

For the first time since arriving 2 years ago, it appears as though Rafa has some really hard choices to make for the first time in his LFC managerial career.

We have almost two available players in every position, and I doubt whether he knows what his best midfield is.

I think it is going to be very tough picking 4 midfielders to play each game, but at least we have loads of 'possibilities' now.

I cannot really see us playing 1 up front in too many games this season, and we may well see lil Luis deployed in a different role this season...and should Kuyt or A N Other striker be signed, well then team predictions are going to become really hard

Any thoughts or insight into how we may play?

I agree it is quite tough to pick our midfield, our strongest midfield would probably be Gerrard/Momo/Xabi/Gonzalez.

I think that there will be a lot of tinkering in the team over the coming season especially when you start the season in four competitions. So I think every one will play their part.

Up front, Bellamy will definitely be first choice……

If we sign Kuyt then we have a complete striking force. Bellamy (pace), Fowler (natural born predator), Crouch (head) and Kuyt... We'd have 4 possibilities! And to think that in season 04/05 we played with Flopo and Gerrard upfront

I agree. I'm just getting bored with these transferes never happening. First we agreed a fee for Simao, didnt get him. Then we agreed a fee (according to some) for Alves, didnt get him. Now we have agreed a fee for Kuyt, if these reports are correct, and a medical is taking place sometime this week. I wont be surpriced if nothing has happened this time next week.

i know its not always possbile, but i think its much better to sign all your players at the start, then they can have a full pre season with the club

To be honest A N Other can be whoever you wish.
I guess it's just pointless mentioning names if i have no idea whether they are actually targets, although Klose was mentioned at one stage??

I'm not sure you can say we have "two players for every position" up front.

Which is probably why Benitez is desperately chasing Kuyt.
