    Riquelme?

Hasn't he just gone on loan back to Argentina? Does anybody know why this happened as he's been amazing for quite some time now? Could be available for a transfer in the summer......

He had a row with the Villarreal coach. Not sure what will happen in the summer, can see him moving on though.
Dreams come true. Without that possibility, nature would not incite us to have them.

My son Foster is a fan of soccer. He was a goaltender. His brother was a defenseman.

Have we got room for him?
A great player, yes, but we also have Gerrard, aloonso, Mascherano and sissoko not to mention Zenden.
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

      * After Tommy Lawrence had let in a fluke goal between his legs

2 things: Alonso needs to improve his consistency on a huge scale. Despite a few good games he's been really disappointing and I wouldn't think twice about benching him in favour of Riquelme. And zenden?!?!?!?

Riquelme needs time on the ball, has no pace, and is lightweight. Class as he is, a more unsuited player to this league I cannot think of. Also, it's not like he's all that consistant himself anyway...

Great player, but there isn't a top level player in world football less suited to the Premiership.

Apparently he's a very fragile bloke, emotionally. Amazingly he's supposed to lack self-belief, which I find hard to imagine...and it's even odder considering he stepped up to take a pen against Arsenal in the CL semi.

It may, however, explain why he looked utterly **** scared as he set himself to take it. His miss was the most obvious impending penalty miss I've ever seen.

I've heard that too. He suffers from really bad nerves and it's one of the reasons why it never worked out for him at Barca and he settled down at a small club like Villarreal.

he had some sort of problem with his coach, don't know what exactly it was, but it was bad enough that riquelme didn't get a game, and will probably be sold in the summer, he did quit the national team to have more time to look after his mother but not sure if his loan to boca had anything to do with that...

i absalutly adore the man, but i have a feeling that he would be useless for us, we don't need him and he rally has to be the main man in midfiled for him to shine, he's always on the ball. and i don't know if he would adabt to the premiership....

lol do you really think im serious about Zenden
as for Alonso, i think your going a bit over board about his consistancy, anyway, its irrelevant, fact remains, Xabi would be better at doing the job Rafa wants which is defending and playing long and short passes.

Your having a laugh arent you? Alonso is footballing gold. seriously intelligent footballer. The only disappointment is that he needs to score more goals.

Zendens not a bad lad, hes was on fire playing consistently for middlesborough till he bacame a bench warmer for us. He will probably go in summer but it wont be because riquelme joins us.

                          Alonso makes us tick.
If you look at our team as a whole, not having Alonso is even more detrimental to our play than not having Gerrard.
In my humble opinion of course.

                            Well said.

Its a bit of an issue now as i think if you play the best team - you cannot drop sissoko, alonso or gerrard - meaning that gerrard obviously plays on the wing.

Gerrard on the wing is a very good option though. Gives him more freedom.
Also, he could play in front of Alonso and Momo.
