    Wesley Sneijder

Barcelona are reported to have opened initial talks with Ajax for Wesley Sneijder.

The hugely-talented Dutch forward has been linked with a number of clubs in recent months, with a summer move away from Ajax widely touted.

Barcelona have always been towards the front of the queue and reports suggest they have now made their move.

Sneijder is contracted until 2009 at the Amsterdam ArenA but is widely expected to depart this summer.

Several sources now claim that Barca have sent an official to open negotiations with Ajax - who are asking for around €12million (£8million) for their prized asset.

Valencia and Atletico Madrid are also believed to have made recent enquiries, but Barca are very much leading the chase.

considering that Luis Garcia is approaching 29 this june i think we should enquire about him as he is a great goalscoring threat and can play as a right winger which would be ideal if Garcia wished to move on considering his age.

he has the quality to be a world class player and being only 22 he is at a good age. what d'ya think?

I saw him quite frequently a few years ago and he looked a real prospect. I haven't seen him recently, but he is certainly the type of player I would like to see us looking at.

I'd be over the moon if we signed this lad. £8m would be deal of the summer.

Saw him in the flesh for Ajax against Inter a few years ago and he looked a class act. Not heard much about him since though which made me think his form had dipped slightly.
He'd be worth a punt but only at the right price.

He can play as a right or left sided winger and as an attacking midfielder.

He has played as an AM this season for Ajax.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

              Like a more consistant Garcia.

Luis should play for us forever. I love that short frustrating little ponce.

Sneijder is Garcia but without the fancy flicks all over the pitch. For that price he is a real bargain. Very good player.

He is an immense talent and could do a good job for us -
Probably more solid than Luis but still the same sort of player - Also can play across the whole midfield - isnt this something Rafa likes in players?
