Kneejerk Crouch thread...

you cant give van der sar a second chance to recover, which crouch did. that ball should of been headed back across goal and on target instinctively and with conviction, something that crouchie lacks. who knows if it would of hit the target? make no bones about it mate, crouch chose the harder of the two choices and i believe he simply does not have enough confidence in his heading ability. if you make the EXCUSE of a broken nose, then really, wtf is he doing on the pitch. id also like to point out that i think big peter really does bring his best week in and week out, he has a great attitude and i appreciate him but unfortunatly his best is not good enough for the heights we need to scale on a consistant basis
nothing personal

i have no idea what that means? does it mean rafa risked further injury to a player or does it mean he wanted him to play but not head the ball? maybe next week if the sun is shining he should wear sunglasses"People from Liverpool have got something about them and, if they’re not happy about something, they let people know.”

I wasn't specifically replying to your post but just the general theme of this thread.
It means that Rafa picks the team. He shouldn't have put Crouch on if he wasn't fit. I don't think all the blame rests with Crouch. He shouldn't have played so soon after fracturing his nose.
I just can't see the logic in starting an anti-Crouch thread because we lost today when he only played for 15 minutes. What the **** were our strikers doing for the other 75?Originally posted by Gordon Brown

True, but he's a striker who misses chances. He's humanOriginally posted by tomasjj View PostCrouch should have scored though.
It was a sitter, good save or not.

I agree. It looked a harder chance when I was at the match but when I saw a few replays on tv the goal was gaping. If he'd scored at that point then we'd have won.
Dissapointing as it is we need to move on and look forward to Tuesday.Babel fanclub member # 4!!!

Of course he does. It's totally ridiculous.Originally posted by Red Chilli View PostYes I agree. I just think he gets a rough deal on internet forums. He gets disproportionate abuse every time.
He'd been on the pitch for about two minutes and was immediately more of a goal threat than Kuyt, who still wouldn't have even looked like scoring if we were still playing now.
I'd go as far as saying had Crouch started instead of Kuyt we'd have won today. Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

Agree. Crouch might not look like a scorer but he's at the right place at the right time. His positioning is spot on. Kuyt on the other hand is more of a "worker" and is more of a AMC than striker.
However, with Bellers and Crouchy upfront, United would be beaten in the first half.Torres Fan Club Member #2, Lucas Leiva Fan Club Member #1

interesting point. i like dirk and his workrate- he is constantly closing down and working channels. the problem a lot today was both him and bellers did it so there was no ****er in the box for a cross.Originally posted by ShaggyAlonso View PostOf course he does. It's totally ridiculous.

i think crouch is unlucky not to start more, but ultimately we need a step in class for at least 2 of our regualr strikers. hope the americans were watching"At a football club, there's a holy trinity - the players, the manager and the supporters.
