Richard Keys has maintained his profile because of unfailing ability to be seen backing the winner. His appreciation of Man Utd knew no bounds, until Arsenal began playing beautiful football and then Chelsea turned up. Now Man Utd will win the league and his admiration will continue after his brief flirtation. If he had been anything better than a TVAM lacky in the 80's he would have been lauding us. It is the nature of the man.

I have nt seen his comments from yesterday but I can imagine that they ran along the lines 'Winning in the final seconds is a measure of champions...' I just hope that when we win 19 we keep him well out of it, it is bad enough he was there to sign off in Istanbul and Cardiff.

It's predictable but it's also true. Good teams score when they need to more often than others do. That's what makes them good teams.

Keys has maintained his position because Sky's research will tell them that people like him presenting their programmes and they see him as the football presenter. He must also play the internal political games at Skysports pretty well.

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

I dont think it was. And in fact every time that the Mancs came out of their half from about 70 minutes on (which I admit was not that often) Gray said it woud be a total injustice if they won

And replace them with ex LFC players by any chance?

Get a grip FFS...it was a clever performance from the Mancs, we didn't find an opening and they took their chance.
At the end of the day they fluked a win, but they will be worthy winners of the league.

                FACT.

A clever performance would imply that they tacticlly out-witted us which absolutely wasnt the case - FACT

We gave a set piece away in a very dangerous position and they capitalised on it, they will be worthy winners of the league if they amass more points than anyone else

It says a lot though when my bluenose mate says "if they are the best god help the rest of us"

All this ****e about Utd's yesterday 'it's what great teams do', 'shows there character' in reference to thier smash n grab job - what tripe.

They got a free kick in a dangerous position which was whipped in with a ****load of pace by Ronaldo, we didn't defend it well atall, ball bounced out to O'Shea and he stuck er away.

So Fergie is a tactical genius for winning that freekick

                            Fecking do one will you

I didnt see Rafa having to tactically reshuffle to accomodate Fergies masterplan

Next you will be telling me it was Fergies plan to let us rampage down their lefthand side and hang on in the hope of a draw

FLMAO yes they won but it wasnt anything to do with Ginsoaks tactics

i'm more than willing to be proven wrong here, but i disagree - it's got everything to do with his tactics and more importantly the mentality that ferguson has drummed into his teams down through the years. i ****in hate saying this but man u have a mentality that always looks to win. there was loads of discussion before that final free and it was well worked - a chance came in a game they had been ****e in and they knew how to take it, albeit with large quantities of luck and the fact that the worst player on the field by some distance scored.

the desire to win regardless of what has gone on in the previous 90 (or whatever) mins is one of the marks of champions. it's happened ourselves in istanbul and fa cup v west ham. and we'll do it plenty of times when we win the league. the fact that the corner we got after this goal was so horrendously poor summarises where we are at the moment...
