Man Utd: The toss

Been meaning to ask this for a bit. Did anyone notice that we kicked towards the Kop in the first half as if we'd lost the toss, but then Man Utd kicked off the first half as if we'd won it.

It seems that we won the toss and chose to kick away from the Kop in the second half.

Which put the sun in our eyes first half and ensured no sun in their eyes all game.

Anyone know what triggered this break in tradition?

Do you mean 'they're toss'?

Nope, their goalkeeper had their sun in the eyes much worse in the second half.

that'll be why then. i'm quite low in the paddock and facing the kop was hard going first half (needed to peak my hand over my eyes to shield from the sun) but second half i had no problems facing that way.

but that explains it.

It looked bad for both Keepers at the Annie Road End - but that's the reason why we did it.

Based on the sun it would be better to be at the Kop end in the first half.

Might also be better to be playing towards the KOP if you wanted to start well.....

true, but what seemed odd here is that we WON the toss. but chose to act as if we'd lost it by breaking that tradition. michaels vid shows why.

We should ALWAYS attack the Kop second half - if the sun is strong wear a cap FFS!! Anyway it looked just as bad in each half - stupid decision IMO.
