im not paying much thought to that list so feel free to rip it apart but the three mentioned above ronaldo drogba and henry were £10 million plus signings that were played week in week out regardless becuase they were are geniune players of unbelievable skill/potential. i just hope we make very few signings this summer but of a high standard - because the excuses bore me to death ive heard it for years an they still keep coming out.

The other point you raised, I agree with. We need a maximum of two first teamers in the summer, any more and the team will need a couple of months to settle.

Hand on heart pennant and gonzalez - good enough wide men in a league winning team? ....in a year or 2 though obviously?

It doesnt need much at all. one or two. Masherano is a steal, i wouldnt be displeased if we signed just one more striker.

Its not going to happen, and I think we need more.
Voronin is already signed, we also IMO need another "TOP QUALITY" striker, chances are if we get a top top striker, they will settle relatively quickly due to their quality. Preferably a physically strong signing if they are from abroad. Eto'o would be perfect, even if it is a bit of a dream.
ID love us to sign some real quality on the wings, if GOnzo came good it would be great, but im not going to hold my breath, same can be said of Kewell regaining full fitness and staying fit. Pennant? he should be well used to the PRemier League by now, he is good, but he is not top class and thats what we need.
Two new wingers, and another new striker them along with Vornin is 4 new signings.
Wont be as bad as last year (6 new signings i think) and I think they will be of a higher standard. (fingers crossed)

I think the two guys you mention MIGHT have the talent to make it in a title winning squad - however the jury is very much out on the both of them.

Never warmed to Pennant, and nothing I've seen has changed my mind, however it would be unfair to ditch him after only one year.

Gonzalez, is still young and hasn't been in the country for a year yet. Showed great promise in the Spanish league last year - so, maybe, he needs the time to adapt his game. Jury is out, like I say.

I'm not classing Voronin as one of my signings...

I don't really know why we've gone for him - unless his wages are feck all.

We need in the summer:

A goalkeeper to replace the Dude
A centre half to replace Sami
A left back that can actually defend
Two wide players, one for either wing
A player that can play behind the strikers
A 20 goal a season player

Forget signing just a couple of players, it should be six in and six out minimum.

I know Voronin has signed but I'm still trying to work that one out.
