The commentator tonight was unbearable!! I thought he was coming everytime Barca came at us and Especially if Ronaldhino was within 10 yards of the ball.

I was cringing with most of his comments but can't actually remember any to quote. I just know he pissed me off more than Gray and Keys and I thought that was impossible.
No, no, no.........I'm only scary 'cause I'm hairy

Big year for me 2008, hope it all goes well for me, oh, and you lot too!

Johnny Giles and his comments I listen to because his criticisms are constructive and those of an intelligent football man. Dunphy showed himself up yet again tonite. His continuing vendetta against Gerrard is sad (Dunphy thinks Gerrard is a sham and far from world class..... what a full fool!!!!). Giles was right tho... "Honesty of effort is what got Liverpool through and they deserved it over 2 legs, but the way the gave the ball away especially in the second half shows they still have some way to go" (sic)
Brady was well sick because he "loves beautiful football and Liverpool don't play that .... Barca do that's why I wanted them to go through" (sic)...
RTE aren't afraid to be critical and unlike ITV were quick to admit we weren't all that tonite. Of what I saw at the end on ITV some of it was patronising... Look we won over 2 legs and I'm happy but our poor finishing tonite could have cost us... We will only improve when we eliminate that negative aspect of our play (the finishing).

I thought we were very impressive tonight - we pressed them and restricted them, we attacked them and created chances - they created very little. The problem is the same old story though, that we dont take our chances. This is obviously something we need to improve if we hope to progress further.

Same failing as last Saturday.... not clinical enough with the clear cut chances we consistently create.
By the way when Liam Brady was critcial of us he turns around and then pays a compliment to the Chavs and acknowledges in the same breath that they're not pretty to watch but they're effective... Hypocrite..
Bill O'Herlihy was quick to remind them though it should have easily been 3-0 at half time if we took our chances and he got the last word in.

Can I just say though, that pre and post match they showed 2-3 minutes of YNWA, which Sky never do.

re. Clinical - those 3 saves from Bellamy, Kuyt and Riise in about 5 seconds were immense.

Their goalkeeper was unbelieveable today - **** all to do with finishing.

Anyone who says otherwise needs to rewatch the game

While I would never have said this 12 months or so ago, I actually prefer watching our CL games on ITV. David Pleat is always good value as co-commentator if you ignore his poor pronuciation of player's names.

Tyldesley, although quite belatedly, has also stopped mentioning 'Man Utd' and 'that wonderful night in Barcelona' every five ****ing minutes during commentary.

If Robbie Earle only ****ed off and started playing the new Doctor Who like he was hinting at his intentions tonight (Tom Baker scarf), we'd be ok. Andy Townsend is pretty fair in his assessments IMHO. McCoist seems pre-occupied these days as well which can only be a good thing.

Kuyt should have buried the rebound, for that double save.

And I'd respectfully refer you to Crouch's shot blazed over the bar where it would have been easier to score.

Certainly not having to listen to Andy Gray and Jamie Redknapp was definitely a bonus

Redders makes Andy Townsend sound knowledgeable. Which is quite something.

                          But Robbie Earle.

Indeed. Mediocre player, even worse pundit.

I would just like to add, after watching some of the post match Sky analysis - Gary Mac

C'mon Riise had a half a goal to aim at and headed it straight at the two players covering the middle of the goal... That was the most wasteful piece of finishing of the night...
