Spot on,he said as much this morning on Newstalk.
He said he doesn't really care one way or another as he's not a Liverpool,Chelsea,Arsenal or Man U fan.
He's just trying to be as honest and professional as possible,he just wants to see football played as he thinks it should be.

Mate...half my family are Dubliners. Me Mum's Irish and all her side of the family still live over there...from Finglas, to Castleknock and other places I forget the names of.

Nowt to do with him being Irish. He looks and sounds like a drunk to me, and he also looks like a tramp. Oh and I can't stand him. That's all.

Giles is top class, always calls a game honestly. Dunphy is a prat, was up United's arse for years while his bum chum Roy Keane was there and consistently maintained they were the only English team with a chance of winning in Europe, despite other British team continually doing better. Now Keane is gone he actually dares to criticise them. Occasionally, he gets it right but more often than not he just rants to get headlines.

I find there's a distinct reluctance in all media to give Liverpool credit, whereas Chelsea, scum etc. are showered with praise after mediocre enough showings. It's just a fact of life I guess.

Dunphy is a **** of the higest order. The man chose to support Cameroon over his own country in the first game of the 2002 World Cup because his bum chum Roy Keane had thrown his toys out of the pram and gone home.

I just laugh at him as he is a joke.

I do like Graham Taylor on 5 Live though. Knows his onions does Graham.

sometimes i'm astouded by the things people want to hear as opposed to what's actually said.

dunphy and man u - has been exceptionally critical of utd in the last few years. constantly criticises ferguson for positions he selects rooney in. constantly says that utd are nowhere near as good as their position at the top of the league would suggest. rightly identified roy keane as the reason utd were dominant for 10 years. rightly identifies rooney as the biggest talent to come out of england in decades.

dunphy and liverpool - was more than willing to admit how wrong he was about us in istanbul. said we were an example to all youngsters watching and provided a valuable lesson about guts and hard work in sport. likes benitez but has a philosophical problem with an over-reliance on destructive break-up-the-play style tactics if it's not followed by ball retention and creativity. loses the run of himself though in a desire to be controversial though as exemlified by last night.

gilesy - rarely wrong. identified the problems and shortcomings of jack charlton era ireland. called the dual managership of houllier/evans immediately and correctly. identified everything that was wrong with houllier era liverpool especially in the treble winning season and particularly after the uefa cup final. loves benitez, wants liverpool to do well as he also constantly says that scum are totally overrated and hates mourinho, chelseas style of football and everything to do with them. correctly called our performance last noght on the 2nd half disappointing given what turned out to be the actual quality of barcelona as opposed to their quality on paper.

                  brady - arsenal fan.

Only because his tongue is wedged up Keane's arse. He's only started criticising them since he retired.

Funnily enough I saw him driving slowly around Faulkner Square after the match last night...

Didn't prevent him scraping both his nearside alloys on the kerb. And he must have been lost because he seemed to be asking a young lady in a very short skirt for directions...

I remember him from late night C5 when I was REALLY desperate for any kind of football. I always found it funny the way he used Americanised footy terms in the sort of voice usually reserved for leprechauns on tv cereal ads
