I'd love to comment on Sissoko and Kuyt threads from Saturday.... I'd love to comment on threads giving Benitez 10 minutes to win the league..... however, all I can say is that I was sat with some neutrals (one Celtic fan, one complete neutral) tonight, who I was with 2 years ago for the CL win, and they said

"I tell you what, two years ago I never thought you'd get through most rounds. You were boring and lucky. But now you're on a par with anyone"

This lucky ****e about 2005 really brasses me off. You cannot win the European Cup by being lucky. Sure the odd bit of luck here and there doesn't go amiss but we played some brilliant stuff as well. we beat the English champions of that season, the Italian champs & the italian runners up. You don't do that through luck.

I've clearly paraphrased, but the sentiment is fair - we were underdogs against 1/4, semi and finalists in 2005 (may be last 16 - Leverkusen, we were certainly underdogs with the bookmakers ), but my mates are saying that we're as good as anyone now.
