I can only assume it's due to Barcelona passing the ball around a lot in non-threatening areas due to us closing them down quickly

No idea but probably not far off when Puyol, Oleguer and Marquez just pass the ball between them in their own half for 5mins at a time, in our half they barely got the ball all night
