DIdn't someone on here post an interesting article comparing football punditry on Irish tv compared to British tv and how their analysis was more sustantive and in-depth? This shows what is wrong with Sky, BBC and Itv if people like Merson, Ian Wright and Robbie Earle can be pundits. The first two cant even string a comprehensible sentence together

after our reserves lost to arsenal reserves in the carling cup he said the season was over and he cannot understand, given that was our only chance of glory why rafa would pick such a team. Redknapp said the season isn't over we still have barcelona, and he said "you are not telling me that liverpool can beat barcelona?" and laughed as if it were a ridiculous thought

I think it was after the 6-3 defeat to Arsenal. Keys and Merson were lambasting Rafa for his team selection, saying it was his last chance of a trophy this season. Then Keys said, SNIGGERING, "Well, they've got Barcelona to play in the Champions League" and Merson pissed himself. "Well vey ain't gonna beat Barca let me tell ya, vey ain't beatin' Barca" - or words to that effect - as the pair of 'em sat there giggling like girls.

If I remember correctly, he was one of the "analysts" for Arse's 6-3 win over us and he said Rafa should have taken the game more seriously as now our season was over, and when someone reminded him that we were still in the CL and I think Redknapp said we could beat Barca Merson sniggered.
