    Another bitter bunch...........

Barcelona whizkid Leo Messi branded Liverpool "ugly and dirty" after crashing out of Europe this week.
The teenager moaned: "They set themselves up very well at the back and by playing ugly and dirty they beat us."

Barca defender Lilian Thuram fumed: "To go out like that made us angry . . . very angry. We lost at home and showed we could have gone through by winning at Anfield

Gudjohnsen added: “Liverpool is not a great team nor has our quality, but worked as a team and their players ran for their teammates, which what was lacking in our team.

Anyone else think Gudjohnsen should keep his mouth shut, he said pretty much the same two years ago :whatever:

Bitter ****s. It must kill them to know our so called 'inferior side' created more than twice as many goal scoring chances over the two legs.

As for "ugly and dirty" football, well their players constantly asking the ref to book our players, especially in the Nou Camp, hardly reflects well on them.

      Sour grapes.

Honestly, you'd think it was a crime that we know how to defend well.

Hmmm....it was very poorly phrased, but I understand what Gudjohnson is trying to say.
Let's face it, Barca have many more talented individuals in their ranks than we have.
It just goes to show that skill isn't everything.
If they played as a cohesive team with the discipline and heart that we showed against them, they would
        probably have beaten us.

It's one of the reasons why Holland have never won the World Cup.
Or the reason why AC Milan didn't defeat us in Istanbul.
Talented footballers will only bring you so far.
In order to truly excel, a team needs also to ally togetherness, mental toughness, heart and discipline to footballing talent.

        He's still a tosser though.
And as for Messi - :whatever:

Bitter ones are the ones spilling the most bull****. We don't play ugly football and we're not a defensive team ... We're just very good tactically and better than most teams at that. That's why these so called 'artists' are fuming about being outwitted by cleverer opponents.

Gudjohnsen is an ex chav ****.

Sour grapes indeed! As has already been pointed out in this thread, we created more chances than them and with a bit of luck we would have 3:0 to the good at anfield by before half time.

The barca lot have started to believe their own hype and that has played a major part of their downfall this season

Johann Cruyff's Barca team was beaten 4-0 by AC Milan (thought to be a defensive team at the time) while they were overwhelming favorites.

No doubt they were still bitter after that.

It just goes to show how badly we need a great goalscorer or two, then we would have been 4-0 or more up at half-time and they wouldn't have had reason to think they could have won.

No worries mate, they would have still moaned about the fact they had 70% of the possession.

Maybe we should just play keep ball in our own half for 5 mins before deciding to go forward - how ****in adventurous is that. Bitter podgy ****face Messi.

So we are a poor team with a poor quality players, but since we ran for our teammates, and they didn't, we got through? Ok thicko

i hate when players come out and say that! we won because we are a team and worked as a collective unit they are not they are individuals and are lazy messi is immune to tracking back the little ****. last year maybe they played great stuff but they also worked alot harder for each they went out and deservedly so!
I'm normally not a praying man, but if you're up there, please save me Superman.

That's indeed a good stat. We had 60% of the territorial advantage all match, and that pretty sums up everything really.
