actually credit to wilkins in the end he did say it would have been a penalty so he did deviate from the chelsea party line. i've got a lot more time for wilkins than a lot of the ex players and that includes a number of ours.

I dont understand why this debate is still rumbling on? At the time of the match Andy Townsend (ex-Chelsea) thought it was in, the ESPN commentator thought it was in (some Irish bloke) - why is it that after the match everyone is now convinced it was not a goal?

Townsend said pretty much the same thing - that Chelsea should be thankful they didn't have Cech sent off and concede a penalty.

Of course, Andy Gray the next night said what pretty much any other reasonable Bitter would say - that Baros shoudl have been sent off for having his foot high :whatever: Clown - in the Premiership he is the first to defend a player's right to challenge for the ball if that player has a fair chance to win it, yet because it was a European game with supposedly harsher refeereing, Baros could have been the one penalised (ignoring the fact that the ball was more under Baros' control than Cech's).
