I wish people would stop connecting us with players like Deco, Kaka, Eto'o and Queresma and the likes, that way when we signs randomers (ala Veronin, Aurelio), it would be less of a kick in the teeth.

He is according to many the best player in the world.

There is no doubt that Rafa would want him if he where available.

If he is available I fully expect us to go for him.

I know I would rather join us then Chelsea.

Deco is a talented player but I absolutely detest him. He is one of the worst divers in football and has been for years.

Kaka is twice the player he is anyway IMHO and given the choice I'd MUCH rather have him.

Bet we don't sign either of them though.

Well, you could argue that our current strikers might find life a little easier with a genuinely creative attacking midfield player behind them....

Considering the fact that we create more chances than any other prem team, that was official at the end of last season and probably again this season, I don't think creating chances is our problem, it's putting them away.

But considering all chances count as one despite the fact that not all chances are equal, that stat doesn't mean an awful lot on its own. We need a couple of players with flair that can get defenders running back to their goal, not just someone clinical.

I agree, but I think we should be looking for players to do this from wide positions rather than central mid, between Mascherano, Sissoko, Xabi and Stevie, I think we're sorted there.

We need to be looking to buy creative wide players and add to our strikers, in my opinion.
