Rafa to Madrid is always going to be a possibility, I hope one day he does go because thats his club, I'm sure he wants to manage there at some point in his career and he deserves to live out his dream. however, I hope that day is some way off, when he's taken LFC as far as he can.
I think Rafa is smart enough to know that it isnt a secure job. Their expectations are far to high and demand instant success even when managers havent had time to bring players in and get there system implemented. Rafa won't leave until he is forced or he has won the league. Fact.

I'd expect Mourinho to be linked aswell in the near future due to his uncertain position at the chavs. Wengerwill also be linked as will the Sevilla coach etc...
The fact is that Rafa is a Real Madrid fan through and through so it's only natural that he will be linked with them. As it stands now though he won't be going there. He was tempted last summer but stayed due to the promise of investment. He's hardly going to leave now is he that we've got the investment that he was waiting for is he?
How on earth can they sack Capello ? He's amongst the best ! If they behave like that every time their side plays ****e, then there's no way back for them. They are a club doomed to failure ... Why did they sack Del Bosque in the first place ? He won them the league and the CL, but still got himself sacked. It was downhill since then for Real.
Sad sad club ... They only have trophies to show for them ... Their history is not one of stability.
Now that we have secured investment there's no way he's going anywhere. Maybe if Moores was still at the helm and signings like Bellamy and Pennant were the extent of our financial capabilities then yes I wouldn't be surprised if Rafa jumped ship this summer. But things are different now. I am 100% certain that Rafa will be our manager next season.
Also, he's just paid between 4-6 million pounds on a huge house in Caldy. You don't do that if you're about to jump ship especially knowing like everyone else that Capello has been on the verge of getting sacked for the last 3 months.
REAL MADRID have made Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez their No1 target to succeed Fabio Capello..
The bombshell news will shake Anfield in the wake of the Reds' latest triumph — the victory over Barcelona in the last 16 of the Champions League.
This new scenario unfolded after a long meeting in Munich after Real's Champions League exit at Bayern on Wednesday.
It ended with sporting director Pedja Mijatovic being instructed by president Ramon Calderon to find a Spanish boss to replace the Italian.
Benitez, 46, is the leading candidate to land a three-year deal after his success with Valencia.
Prise
There has already been a meeting between Benitez and Mijatovic last month, when the Kop chief's options were discussed in light of the Reds takeover by Americans George Gillett and Tom Hicks.
Real were sufficiently encouraged to think that they can prise Benitez away from Anfield.
His agent Manuel Garcia Quilon: "I am in constant contact with Real on many subjects but have to be secret about any theme."
Benitez said: "Real Madrid? I know the club perfectly — it is one of the best in the world and certainly for any Spanish coach it will be a dream to be on their bench.
"It is impossible to discard this but many things would need to pass."
According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.
Jamie Carragher is confident manager Rafa Benitez won't be tempted away from Liverpool.
The Reds favourite told the Independent on Sunday: "He wouldn't get anything better than Liverpool, or I wouldn't think so!" And in a pointed reference to certain clubs here and in Spain, he added: "He can buy his own players here.
"He's one of the best managers around. He proved that at Valencia, and he's already proved it here. Hopefully we can go on again over the next few years and win more things."
And establish a dynasty similar to that of Sir Alex Ferguson and Arsene Wenger? "I hope so. All the players enjoy working with him. I'm sure you can see the difference he's made over the last few years, especially in Europe. Next season we want to push on and do well in the Premiership as well."
