Thanjk you.

Yes, Barca have first option on Alves but that option isn't worth anything if the player want to go to another club.
Alves have said that Liverpool is his prefered option if he leaves Sevilla.
Players have a nasty habit of changing their minds when it comes to the crunch. If the Chavs start wafting reddies in front of him then don't be surprised if he has a change of heart.

I don't think that will be the case with Alves. He turned down bigger money from Barca last season so he could have a chance to join us.
If you believe the rumours then Rafa have Alves word that he will join us if we can agree a fee with Sevilla.
Why do you think I have two £50 bets on him to join us before September, one with Desertscouser and one with Diego. The money will go to the HJC whoever wins the bets.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.
According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

Look AFII, your beliefs or thoughts are not set in stone. If Chavski offers him treble the wages we offer him do you REALLY believe he won't change his mind?
If you do then you are naive beyond belief.
Made up rumours of Alves "word" means **** ALL in the grand scheme of things

I don't think Abramovich really seems ready to sanction absolutely massive wages on top of a big money move tbh and I think people have misread that quote of Alves' from a year or so ago. He said he wanted to secure the future of his family AND grow as a football player, that might well mean turning down more money at Chelsea. Anyway, only time will tell. I really hope we get him because he is pure class.
It looks like the time when Chelsea pays out fantasy wages is over. Just look at the Lampard and Terry situations.

We will see in the summer if Alves joins us or not. HJC will get £100 and that's the most important point with the bets.

That was last summer. Roman seems to have change his policy since then. Maureen wasn't even allowed to sign a central defender in January.

i dont believe they have bid 45m for Villa one bit!!
Agreed, he refused to pay £2m in January for Ben Tal Haim (sp?) when Chelsea desperately needed a defender, I can't see him offering £45m for Villa - especially when Abramovic played a big part of Shevchenko moving to the Bridge.
Anyway, I know Villa's buy-out-clause is around 100m Euro's, but seriously, if any team bid £45m for Villa, then I'm sure it would be accepted. It's a ridiculous amount of money, which would be almost impossible to refuse.
I'd be over the moon if Rafa made only two siginings in the summer, Villa and Alves. That would be perfect.

perhaps roman has simply stopped giving money to a manager who he knows is on the way out...
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'
"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.
