      Yes.

You don't want to wrangle with them though, vicious brutes.
      .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

My mate the architect wasn't in. In fact the pub was empty so I only had one pint and ****ed off back home for a cup of tea instead...

Maybe everyone was just hiding until you left.

                    Interesting news rushie

Given that the echo and other papers are publicising the "north Liverpool" regeneration and how nice it could be.. I wonder if our new owners are going to use that to play hardball... ie you want this for your area, then let us build the stadium we want OR we move...

I think Moores/Parry might have been a tad too soft hearted and I wonder if they guaranteed that we would stay in the Anfield area, meaning that we let the Liverpool council dictate to us the terms. I remember the reports that he was too worried about economy of that area to move out of it.

I doubt our new owners are going to be as concerned about that.
I think Kraft actually did the same thing re Foxboro.. ie Gillette stadium - let me build what I want or the New England Patriots will move to connecticut...

Let's hope our new owners play hardball and build us a stadium we will all be proud of!

Apparently Statler and Waldorf (Hicks and Gillett) have sacked the Manchester-based architects Atherden Fuller Leng (AFL) and appointed another firm from London. And just to please all those of you out there that don't think 60,000 is enough, the new architects have been given a specific brief - increase the capacity to 70,000.

I've no idea how they will do that as I've always said the planning permission granted was based on 60,000 (or 61,000 to be more precise) being the maximum limit set after considering the infrastructure and the effect on the roads, etc, of an extra 16,000 fans at each game.

Anyway, I thought I'd pass on the news...

You have been spot on the stadium issue from the start, Thanks for sharing the info

OK, here's the latest news from the horse's mouth (and I'm shamelessly hijacking the discussion back to my original thread):
                            1. When I announced the new architects were HKS from Dallas that was my educated guess but it has now been confirmed by my source
                            2. HKS are probably the best known and biggest architects practice in the world for sports stadia
                            3. The current architects AFL haven't yet been formally sacked but are assuming that they've lost the contract to manage the stadium project
                            4. That does not mean the original design has definitely been discarded as architects not only design a building but project-manage the construction thereafter
                            5. Steve Unwin (known as "Wolfman"), who managed the Liverpool team at AFL and was the guy that Trousers met, has now left AFL and set up his own practice
                            6. AFL have unsuccesfully tried to recruit a replacement project manager (after Unwin left they approached my mate but he turned them down)
                            7. They have also been unsuccesful in recruiting a team of 10 - 15 architects for the stadium project
                            8. Secretly, the Directors at AFL are relieved that they've lost the contract to oversee building the new stadium as they couldn't get a team together
                            9. Because of all these factors Messrs Gillett and Hicks have lost faith with AFL and asked HKS to see what can be improved
                            10. AFL have also lost the Mohamed Bin Zayed Stadium for Al Jazira FC in Abu Dhabi but this is also still showing as one of their current projects on their website

Sorry it's not any more interesting news fellas but I'm trying to find out as much as I can...

Did you take a pen and paper with you to the pub tonight ?

As for Wolfman - well he can't even manage Pete Doherty's drug kitty, so I wouldn't have trusted him anyway.
