Arsenal hardly have any Brits, but wonderfully gifted players from around the globe none the less, and look where has it got them.

Chavs had a core of Brits and their title winning teams were built around them, and they have scoured the country for the best young brits for the future.

Scum have gone the same way, and they are top, no coincidence there there then.

It's a fine blend that is required for the right mix to work.

Of course it doesn't matter where they are from but my point is that British players tend to play better in the league than foreign players. How many South american players have made a real impact in England, hardly any, and there have been plenty of top quality players who've tried. We've 5 players from that region and 4 spaniards. My view is on past history this mix doesn't win English league titles.

Yes but very few South Americans come to the UK to play. Spainiards are new to this country as well. But they can play here, they need the right players around them however and the right tactics. UIs the best player in the prem this season British?

          What 3, like we had.

Yes, consistently over the season their best players, you need them in the team, like we do.

Gerrard Carragher and Finnan are 3 of our most consistant players.
You don't need British players you just need good players. How many where British in the Arsenal team that never lost? 2 wasn't it and Cole was not the core of the side, Viera was.

Yes but he has played football in England his whole career and I sound more Irish than him.

They slowly strangled the Brit influence, and for 1 season it worked, and look where it has got them now, suffice to say they are having to pay millions for brit teenagers.

As I said, it's a balance and finding the right mix is the long term aim, you cannot just ignore the brits when building for the long term.

Yeah I know limerick, but his football education was British then. Which on the pitch amounts to the same.

The point is, in this context Finnan would be regarded as a British player. You certainly couldn't describe him as a "foreign player" with issues of having to 'settle in' and 'adapt to the Premiership'.

But you shouldn't ignore better players from abroad to have an over priced British player.

And it works in reverse, the Brit will be ready to go from day 1 and will be with us and know us, and won't be hankering for life in the sun etc,
brits aren't overpriced, they are what the market is, we have the most money coming into our PL and therefore clubs hardly need to sell, arsenal have discarded the brits for cheaper imports and they have a soft underbelly which is easily exposed, and nothing to show for it for the recent years they went down that path, skillful, technical players at the expense of the hard working solid more expensive brit is a balance, but one which cannot be ignored such as Wenger did.

They are not always ready from day one, a change in system can mean a player can take tim to settle.

You can be technical and strong.
Arsenal's problem is not a lack of British players.
