Thanjk you.

but IMO we should be aiming at a stadium in a similar mould of Boca's stadium. Its a magnificent stadium.
Others that stand out in my mind are, Sporting Lisbons and Allianz Arena (fantastic design).
The use of mosaic tiles on Sporings stadium is a nice touch, and really give the stadium an arty feeling.
Seen alot of people complaining about our new stadium but pointing out that they would prefer the sporting lisbon one (you're not the only one). it looks exactly the same, i dont get it! that is the stadium we will be building. the only difference is its green!
I hate the new stadium design.. if you look at some of the future stadiums on the stadiumguide.com, so many are really cool, i think our one is one of the worst. It is a production line stadium, proved by the fact that sportings is identical.
i know its a question of cost and other factors but our stadium is so important.. its like our church. Its something that people around the world identify us by.

I really like the Boca stadium. It would be so intimidating with our fans that it'd get us at least and extra 3-6 points per season. I reckon we'll end up w/something closer to that Dallas stadium that someone posted about the other day.
I don't like the design of the new ground. Its far too much like those that are about at the moment and I always think that we should have something a bit more special.
I thought it was going to be amended to give the ground some sort of Kop end though.
Still if the new owners might change things a bit though.
Twin boys - now arriving late August 2008.
Its gonna be Fernando and Gerrard if I get my way!
Lazios does look very nice indeed. Love that glass effect, and how it translates with lighting at night.
fooken sensational in other words.
Valencia's is also fantastic.
I realise Sportings is very similar to ours....and its the added colour that stands out for me. I hate looking at boring grey concrete stadiums, they look bland. We are the redmen!! our stadium should be red, whther it be lighting, mosaics, or just plain paint i dont care...but the stadium needs identity...and TBH the current plans have none.

"looking through your posts since 2007 and what you have consistently written about my football team I have come to the conclusion that if you had 1 more brain cell you would be a plant .. your father was a hamster and your mother smells of elder berries, I fart in your general direction ..." Nicey
And there was me thinking it as us, the fans, that made the atmosphere !!
How little I know.
I'm afraid I disagree. I have been witness to 2 major redevelopments of stadiums in Glasgow in the last 15 years, namely Celtic Park and Hampden.
Hampden is now a poorly designed stadium in terms of atmosphere. The structure does not lend itself to retaining noise and the stands slope far too gently. This results in any noise generated by fans not being contained and fans on the upper part of the stands being miles away from the pitch itself. I hate going there now.
Celtic Park however is a totally different matter. The stands are at a much steeper angle and the roof encloses and contains the majority of noise created. Even though I am on the upper tier I feel closer to the action than I ever do at hampden and the noise can be frightening sometimes.
The Amsterdam ArenA is another example of this. When we played them (and beat them 1-3) there a few years back the atmosphere was incredible.

I design bars and restaurants so stadiums arent my speciality, but i think there are two clear groups of new stadium - Good ones that have had money thrown at them and bad ones that havent. I dislike all the new premiership (and a few championship sides) new stadia - middlesborough, sunderland and the reebok (particularly bad from the outside) They all reek of "okay we want 30,000 - make it cheap"
The emirates is well designed but apparently lacking atmosphere.
We should try and build something in the class of the allianz or the amsterdam arena. We have the opportunity to revolutionise football stadium design to encorporate a single tier kop end - turning our back on now traditionally symetrical new stadiums. It could be pant wettingly good. At present its just a massive version of the reebok.
interesting comments on the other thread about the increase in capacity....
