                ive seen a couple of clips about him...isnt he supposed to be the "next" big thing in Argentina? ala Aguero.

                    River distance themselves from Reds offer.

                    River Plate president Jose Maria Aguilar has denied that Liverpool have made an offer for starlet Gonzalo Higuian.

                    The 18-year-old has already distanced himself from reports linking him with Liverpool - after The Reds were reported to be interested in luring the striker to England.

                    Now River have confirmed that they have not received an offer from Liverpool or any other club.

                    "Up to last night there was nothing," insisted Aguilar on Saturday morning - but he did admit that an offer of around £8 million would be enough to land Higuain.

                    "We can't be answering everyday about rumours. If there is a team interested in Higuain they have to send a fax with their proposal and the club will analyse it.

                    "Of course if it's true that Liverpool are wanting to offer €12 million (£8 million) for the player then we will seriously consider because it would be a very important financial offer for River, but until the moment we don't have anything official."

                    Higuain, who was born in France and so would not need a work-permit to play in The Premiership - made a real impact last season grabbing five goals in just 12 starts.

                    However, the youngster insists he is settled in Argentina.

                    "I don't know anything about a possible transfer to a European team and I even don't know from where that information came," he said.

                    "I am currently at River and have my mind here. It's nice to hear things like these but as I haven't received any official announcement I prefer to stay calm.
