Thanjk you.

Unfortunately, I think there's more to the Rafa-Madrid rumours than people assume.
You post nothing but negative drival.

The link with madrid will always be there because Rafa is a Real man & wants to manage there one day.
The most worrying aspect of all this is rafa going public on wanting to meet the new owners. Why go to the press with this. It seems to me that maybe Rafa has asked to meet them but so far hasn't. Rafa would only go public on this if there was some underlying problem. Thats the problem with the new owners being 1000's of miles away with many other business interests. Rafa and LFC will not always be top of their list of priorities.
Have to admit, I was left wondering why Rafa went to the press on this myself.
I have no doubt he is getting promised everything he ever wanted as a potential manager of MAdrid behind the scenes.
But I still dont think it warrants him saying what he has to the press, Rafa is a clever man, maybe there was a bit of ealry confusion due to our new owners not firmly getting their feet under the table, but that has to be expected initially right?.
there is also an element of Rafa only being human himself, and he is, like anyone of us liable to say the wrong thing some times for whatever reason.
Its not a trend i'd like to see repeated every season though, even if it is a tactic to get the board to pony up the dough.
Lets say this was one of our playing staff saying this every summer, would it be tolerated by Rafa?.
Whatever happens i hope he stays, but the more and more it drags on like this, the less confidence I have, I would have thought than new investment from highly ambitious new owners would have been enough to convice Rafa of where his immediate future lies. But home ties are starting to look like a bigger draw than I first thought for Rafa, especially given the political nature of the big clubs in Spain & Real in particular.
Hopefully Rafa starts to feel more at home at Liverpool than he has anywhere else in his past, but its not just him though, its his family, his fellow Spaniards in the coaching and playing staff, all of these things must surely be influential in his train of thought.
Anyway i'm sure he will be here in th sumer, I refuse to believe he will walk away from the best fans in the world, the massive potential and the city of Liverpool, just yet.
But obviously it may not be too many seasons down the road.
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'
"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

Unusually for me I am with AA on this. I think we are being a little naive if we believe that there is no real possibility of him leaving for Madrid. In my opinion he will get the backing from the new owners that he requires but if he doesn't then I think he may have a big decision to make
Re Real Madrid comments. Rafa's just doing what he's done before and will no doubt do in future. He's using the rumours to his advantage, ensuring he will get what he wants from the club's moneymen. Nothing more.
ASTON VILLA V LIVERPOOL, TOMORROW, K-O 1.35PM ANFIELD CHIEF'S PLAN FOR RECLAIMING TITLE
David Maddock 17/03/2007
RAFAEL BENITEZ has warned the new owners of Liverpool that they must get real if they are to ever fulfil the fans' dream of title glory.
The Anfield boss has been involved in talks this week with American tycoons George Gillett and Tom Hicks, after he was surprisingly ignored when the pair visited Merseyside to watch the Champions League clash with Barcelona.
And the Spanish coach was at pains to point out that there can be no quick fix of simply throwing money at the situation, which sees Liverpool languishing in fourth place, almost 20 points behind leaders Manchester United.

As he contemplated a record that has seen them lose five times since the turn of the year, the Liverpool manager explained what is required if the club is to end its 17-year wait for a championship triumph.
"We are close to the top two...but not as close as people think. It is clear to me that if we want to be up there winning the title, then we must understand that we are not as close as we think," Benitez explained.
"I am a realist, and I know the reality of the situation. I cannot say we are fantastic at the moment, I cannot say that we are close and we only need one player to take us to the top.
"We need to do things on the pitch, and off the pitch. What we need to do is very, very difficult, because we need to improve in all areas. I have a lot of confidence in the team and in my staff, but it would be stupid to say that we can do it right now, because our rivals are better at the moment."
Although Benitez was cagey about his talks with the Americans, it is clear that he wants to give them a strong message over exactly what is required for Liverpool to rival United, Chelsea and Arsenal. He continued: "I don't know at this moment if they are able to put in enough money to rival the big teams, but really the most important thing is to put in place the structure to improve in all areas.
"The solution is not just to spend money each year, the key is to create the structure where eventually you can spend less money each year because you have the players coming through, and you are able to find the players at reasonable prices.
"You have to do the right things so that the structure is in place. But they are astute businessmen, they are clever and if they have spent £400million or whatever, then they will understand that they must do the right things for winning."
WILL RAFA RUN TO REAL?
Hi Guillem, As a Liverpool fan will Rafa Benitez turn down Real Madrid again knowing of all the interference which comes with the job? At my beloved Liverpool he is given full control of football maters and with substantial backing could possibly have a very good team and of course there are the fans who do believe in him. There are not a lot of managers with ability out there with, for the first real time the players coming out in praise of him, which tells me they see his vision of the game which should lead to the team he envisages. Tony, London.
GUILLEM SAYS: Well not to give anything away, but we have an inclusive interview with Benitez on Revista so keep a close eye on what he says because I get the impression that the offer from Real Madrid is very serious and is big in terms of money.
But I also get the impression that if he gets to meet the owners for a second time, they may convince him to stay. It is not about the money, it is about the promise that things are going to change.
Added to that, Bascombe is reporting today that well placed sources are suggesting that its 50-50 that Rafa will be here or Real next season
Rafa's job here is not done yet. Imo it would be a sign of personal defeat if he left now.
If he gets the backing of the new owner, he will stay to get it done. However, if not, he may walk, but I doubt it will be now this summer.
--== Because the gang and the government is no different ==--
The Madrid job will aLWAYS be there for someone who is reasonably successful.
We're on the cusp of a breakthrough with our new owners. If Rafa jumps now, he'll certainly live to regret it.
