    World Class Talent Needed..

to be brought in this summer.

Not 5 or 6 youngsters who will take 4 seasons to bed in, with the American's money surely this summer is the ideal opportunity to get some world class players in.

3 would be more than enough in my opinion as we have probably one of the strongest squads in the league however we need 2/3 players that will instantly go into the 1st team and make a significant difference.

    My choices: (no particular order)
    Aaron Lennon
    David Villa
    Micah Richards

Cost us a fortune no doubt but sure if we want to be in a with a shout of number 19 then the cash will need to be splashed.

and here was me hoping for some more good but not world class signings.
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

    * After Tommy Lawrence had let in a fluke goal between his legs

Lennon and Richards could be classed as newcomers who still need to bed in. They are just flavour of the month. Certainly not established world class players. As for David Villa in the Prem..... Total unknown.....Total Unknown......flip a coin?

agreed neither Richards or Lennon have done anything to be described as world class.

Well lads i'll have to disagree, i think both Ricahrds and Lennon are on the verge of becoming world class.

Richards from day one - you just knew he had it, the kid's got character, attitude not to mention a fantastic god given talent, he's got the lot, power, pace, aerial prowess, a real beast of a player.

As for Aaron Lennon i think he's sheer class the lad, does need to improve his crossing though, such pace and quick feet, would be a massive hit with the Liverpool faithful if he were to join, he offers something different,
            something exciting.

From what I've seen of him, which admittedly is little, I'd rather have Alves than Lennon. Buying Premiership talent is notoriously expensive. I would take Lennon and Berbatov, but what their cost would far exceed their true worth, especially in the case of Lennon. The obvious case in point is Carrick.

My initial thoughts on both players are that Richards is strong & powerful, has a good engine, but doesn't seem to know what position he is playing or where he is best playing. He needs to be a bit more diciplined yet before taking the step up. But only 18... it's another Walcott gamble situation. I would never say never to him.

Lennon, yes, quick feet, attacks defenders, but is a bit lightweight and his end product doesn't end in enough goals. He is the type of player that excites, and it is that excitement from a winger that we have been craving.
Especially as we were hoping Gonzalez or even Pennant could bring us that. Lennon is just edging those two but thats about it.

It's dead easy to sput out a few names and say that'll make us better.

Truth is that it's not that simple. Common sense tells us that the more talented a player is, the more likely he is to succeed.

Then of course there's the exception to the rule, like Fernando Morientes.

Re Lennon and Richards, they look talented players, but it's one thing doing it in a small pond, quite another at LFC.

Rafa's a better judge of a player than any of us, so I'm letting him get on with it. It saddens me though that already some are getting stuck into Voronin because he isn't an overrated Football Manager/YouTube legend type like a Fernando Torres for example. But of course the herd would wet themselves if we signed him. Exsposure does not a good player make.

imo lennon and richards won't get us close to the title, teenage right back will not win games and i doubt he'll be better than finnan, as for lennon he's just not the match winner we need out wide, we need to find a player that is better than gerrard on the right and he aint that good. Villa on the other hand might be a golden ticket but we need more like him...

What have they actuall done to prove themselves as world class against world class opposition? Nothing.
World class is a terribly over used word, these are two players with potential, thats all at the moment.

I see Richards more like the next Gerrard. He can play in a lot of positions.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

lennon looks a great talent and richards looks very promising....but i thought you wanted world class talent , i would be looking at guys with 3 to 4 years of proven ability.

lennon once his distribution gets better could become world class....but he needs to be able to finish better as well.

Lennon or richards are not the answer....i would prefer any of

                              Ribery
                              Mancini
                              Villa/torres
                              Alves and
                              richards for the future
