    Shooting

Take a look at the attached image..... one goal shows Liverpool's shooting so far this season and the other shows uniteds.....

    But which one is which....?

United obviously focus on a certain type of shot during training which may explain why they are more successful in front of goal than we are….. Something to put into practice maybe

Yea…… I don’t know if it is something that they really focus on… or just the particular style of their players….

It might all be completely irrelevant, but then again it might not…

Just thought you guys might find it interesting.

thats just a load of ****ing balls
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

              * After Tommy Lawrence had let in a fluke goal between his legs

But seriously, it's just individuals' technique I think. Ferguson couldn't give a monkeys how high the ball is as long as it's going in.

                  lol yeah true.
Fact remains, the Man yo players are better at finding the back of the net, its as simple as that.

I think you have a point, it´s harder to keep a fast ground ball out isn´t it?
                    * The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

Well, the keepers arms are higher up...

I like to aim high, but shoot low

It also might have something to do with the support play preceeding the shots/goals. We play a lot of square balls and balls to people with their backs to goal. United play a lot more of an attacking 'wave', when they go for it, they tend to be running in on goal a lot more than we do.

The problem with just focusing on where the ball ends up being placed is, in my opinion about 5% of the whole story.

It's one of those 3D things, right? If I stare at it long enough, I'll see a dolphin?

Low and hard is how I was taught.

High and wide is how I shot!

                              I tend to agree.
Of our goals, i would have thought alot of our shooting comes from further out than Uniteds, or the chances are not as clear on goal.
We deffo need some top class tallent on the wings, United have it, Arsenal have it, even the chavs have it(even if they dont use it proper), but its somethign that can make our half chances full decent chances and therefore easier to convert.
