    Robinho?

RAFA STILL AT TOP OF REAL LIST
    EXCLUSIVE
    By SIMON MULLOCK

RAFA BENITEZ still tops Real Madrid's managerial wish-list.

And the Spanish giants are aware there may be a problem brewing between the Liverpool manager and his new American bosses.

Real will not make a decision on the best man to replace Fabio Capello until Benitez has held critical talks with George Gillett and Tom Hicks after Liverpool's home clash with Arsenal on March 31. Real have drawn up a short list of three names, which also includes Chelsea's Jose Mourinho and former Germany superstar Bernd Schuster, coach at Getafe.

Benitez, who spent time as a player and coach at the Bernabeu, is No.1 choice. But he is prepared to stay at Anfield - if he gets the right assurances from Gillett and Hicks.

It has been suggested that Benitez is concerned that the £450m takeover has not secured the kind of funds he craves. But of greater concern is the lack of communication from the new owners.

Liverpool have already missed out on a string of potential transfer targets because Benitez still hasn't been given a clear indication of his budget.

Sunday Mirror Sport understands one of those targets is a £10m player - believed to be Real Madrid's Robinho.

While no deals can be sealed at the moment, clubs around Europe are vying for positions in the market and Benitez is worried that Liverpool have already conceded negotiating ground.

Benitez said: "It is not about how much money we spend. It is now a question of whether we can get the players we want.

"I am happy and I want to stay. I have confidence that this team will go forward."

Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

I imagine Robinho would look like the best player of all time on You Tube.

He is outrageously skilful, but I can't help wondering if he'd better served performing ball-juggling tricks on Las Ramblas rather than being a striker at the top level. I think he'd get booted all over the shop in the Prem, and he is very lightweight.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

He's clearly a risk but he has the sort of creative skills we need to add to our squad. I can't see any player who would bring them who I wouldn't worry about adapting, and then they have to be available. I would love to see us gamble on Robinho.

Always found him a showpony with little product.
Could be wrong... He looks like the Brazilian SWP.

Robinho? Fcuking no way! He might look absolutely unbelievable when you watch videos of him (especially that Nike Joga ****e), but that'll never work in Premiership. Never. He would get battered week in week out + he is a lightweight, which is a big NO NO...

Imagine what would the butchers (Lee Bowyer, Lucas Neill, Michael Essien etc.) do to him?

He was bought to replace Michael Owen and guess what he's nowhere near as good as him. He gets knocked off the ball easily in Spain, he'd be absolutely slaughtered here.

I think this story is bollocks anyway, no way his he the type of player Rafa would sign. As for taking a risk on him mentioned in a previous post well we have already took a risk on two players and neither have been an unqualified success. I believe Rafa is getting fed up of having to take risks on players and is now determined to buy the finished article.

I think Robinho would be a good signing. His confidence seems very low at Madrid at the moment and Capello plays him left wing most times.

We must buy Tevez, he was brillliant again last night for West Ham

                  Agree.

When he first joined Real he was awesome, and he still is for Brazil. Since then his confidence has been destroyed.

He's the type of skillful, pacy, creative wide man we need.

He's not a wideman though mate and thats what the problem is at Madrid, getting shoved out on the wing. I'd take a gamble but not if the intention was to play him wide

Before we laugh at Robinho lets not forget the ****s laughing at the "fake Ronaldo" a year ago. Outrageously taleneted players can be nurtured whereas dogs of war can't be taught how to play football. I'd love him here.

I'd be happy with giving Robinho a go.

A very talented link man between midfield and attack. A Beardsley type player. Just what we need if he lives up to his billing.

As for getting booted off the ball, well if you're good enough that doesn't happen, look at Zola.
