He doesn't really need to be established world class finisher. I would be happy with any proven finisher as long as he is given the role of scoring goals.

None of this "We need you to", hold up play, link up play, work the channels, get to the bye line, track back, drive the team bus, make half time sandwiches!!!

Just have the one job of scoring goals.

Robinho wouldn't be the person to do that for me at this moment in time, but i'm really scratching my head to come up with a better gamble at the same time.

We are looking to mount a serious title challenge next season and Robinho is going to need a season at the very least to adapt to the Premiership. If we can afford to gamble at a cost of 10M on a player for the future, whilst still making the signings we need to mount said challenge, then great. If we can't, he's a luxury we can't afford.

Is there a place in the same squad for Garcia & Robinho ?

          We have no creativity.

Pointless having a world class finisher on the pitch today, there was no creativity.

We need a finisher and a creative link man.

Wasn't Bellamy supposed to be our finisher and Kuyt our link man today?

I put our whole bad performance down to not playing for nearly 2 weeks. Most people complain about congested fixture lists but i honestly think if we had our normal cup games that we are usually still in by now, then since the Barca match we would have been a lot fresher today.

It just seemed like first day of the season all over again and we were stale.

That's not acceptable if it's true.

Of course it's not true.... we are in March now!

But the same old feeling that we should have turned Sheff Utd over first game of the season when we were full of optimism, but after the game we were left feeling pretty much the same we are feeling now.

Which really, is not quite acceptable!

The team is looking towards the CL now. It was exactly the same feeling at this stage of the season 2 years ago. Luckily we're in a better league position this time but the performances then were equally uninspiring.
If we were in trouble of securing 4th then I'd be more concerned.

We have been fighting to stay in the top 4 for over 15 years now. I think that is the root of the problem/frustration. We as Liverpool fans have always been used to more.

I want Rafa to be the bloke who gets us the title so much, but if the players put in a performance like that today, against a team like Villa who are quite happy to sit in mid-table obscurity, then i don't know if it's the players at fault or the manager.

The look on Rafa's face at times say's the players are not doing the job that he has mentally planned out for them to do. But has been proven here time & time again...... Nobody can second guess what our manager is planning on doing???

                      Exactly.

The day the fans start 'accepting' finishing 4th will be a very sad day for the club.

I'm glad everyone is so pissed off.

                        fair comment.
Yes he maybe a bit of a gamble, in that he could turn out to be lightweight, but like Ronaldo at Manure, with the right sort of supprot, training and playing him in a support striker role, he could be a brilliant signing. I'd rather we risked say 5-10mill on him than spunking 10mill on Pennant and Gonzalez.

What do you mean no creativity?! We have had more shots on goal than any team in the premiership! :whatever:

You are of course 100% correct, we need alot more creativity in the side and we need at least one top class striker.

re. 'satisfied with finishing 3rd or 4th' I think, to be fair, Red Chilli was meaning we are where we are, we can't win it this season so there's no point worrying too much about premiership performances.

1 months ago we thought we were in with a chance of the premiership. The Newcastle and Man U games effectively ended that, but it was a long shot anyway.
