It could all be just paper talk but it's been brewing for one week.
    But we've already signed Voronin.

Yes, and we may end up with him only in attack as regards to new strikers coming in.

But it's March. You can't sign players who are contracted to other clubs.

Exactly. How can we not be moving quickly enough? We've just got new owners in, started on the new stadium, taken the decision to review the plans almost immediately and we're in between transfer windows.

If Rafa wants to move quicker then it's up to him to get his arse in gear.

Well said. And 2 defensive midfielders, with no other wingers in the side to balance that negativity out with creativity. We have to stop this sh*te if we are to win the League. We need to be winning at places like Villa.

Today was shocking, truly shocking and says everything about the standard of attacking players we have at the club at the moment and the mentality of the manager at times.

Both have to change for us to be successful in our own domestic league.

Yeah - I remember those deluded 3 minute interviews well, when Ged, with his eyes popping out, was spouting some bollocks about a game only he and Thommo had been watching

I think it's more about the whole package rather than the two players in central midfield although I kind of concur with the point you and AA are trying to make.

Teams like United and Chelski, and if were honest with ourselves, Arsenal, just have better individual players than us.

For example, some of the XIs that Taggart has been fielding recently have included John O'Shea and Fletcher in central midfield but then they can rely on individual pieces of brilliance from players such as Ronaldo and Rooney which is making that 22 point difference IMO.

I remember the days we used to see Gerrard as a defensive box to box midfielder, but today he was our most attacking threat!

We had a GK, 4 defenders, 2 holding players, a defensive box to box player on the right, a defender at left midfield and Dirk "defensive striker" Kuyt up front.

It was pure ****e house tactics against a **** team.

Exactly. Which is why IF you play both Masher & Momo (or even Alonso & MomO) you need to balance out that lack of CM drive with flair out wide (or as much flair as we have ATM (i.e. Pennant & Gonzalez). To play SG & Aurelio with that CM pairing is just madness, esp when our forwards are so poor.

indeed. it was those interviews that made me know that ged was not the man for us. if i go to see a doctor i at least want to know that he's got the diagnosis right before i let him treat me.

so rafa's wrong. the only positive thing isn't the point. another positive is the fact that he thinks that.

Rafa ****ed it up again. This man will never win us the PL. He hasn't learned a thing since about playing away in the PL since he arrived. Yet another repeat performance today and the utter refusal to play football away from home. Fielding two defensive midfielders (God knows why) against an abysmal Villa side, you can only wonder what's going on in his head. It's not like he stands up and rectifies matters once it becomes clear, that whatever he was trying to pull just isn't working. Grow a ****ing pair and take some calculated risks. Field a side with a CM who can actually play football. What the **** is this Momo nonsense? Is he blind? I have no faith left in Rafa when it comes to the PL. Our Gaffa is a wuss.

Rant over. Sorry. Feel better. :whatever:

We were somewhere around Barstow on the edge of the desert when the drugs began to take hold.

Thankfully I missed today's game as I was en route back to Cyprus. But it sounds like yet another all too familiar sub standard LFC performance in the premiership. We've been poor this season and I agree with alot on here that Rafa is far too negative in his tactics and in the players he likes to buy.

This summer we need a proper goalscorer and at least two creative midfielders. Our current side has feck all flair or creativity and quite frankly our football is boring and predictable.

However, I still have faith in Rafa and I'm sure he'll get it right this summer.
