      Fingers crossed mate.

I'm getting really worried that Alonso will go this summer.

He'll only go if Rafa thinks he can do without, and I don't think thats the case

If Alonso expresses a desire to join Barca, i cant see Rafa keeping an unhappy player.

Unnoticed? 90% of this forum saw him as the man of the match

We showed nothing going forward, but when he came on, that changed.

He made himself constantly available down the right, was confident in taking on the fullback and had the beating of him on several occasions, in a short space of time. Not only that, but having beaten his man, he was putting in a good delivery most times.

Put simply, as soon as Pennant came on, we suddenly offered a threat.

One swallow doesnt make a summer, but credit where it's due, he was excellent in that cameo at Villa Park and if he produces that regularly, he'll be a very useful player for us.

              Keep it up JP
It's not PC to praise JP

It's not Peter Crouch to praise Jermaine Pennant?

pity he doesn't have anywhere near the confidence in attacking the flanks against top class opposition as he showed yesterday. Jury still out on him though, no doubt he has talent, in my opinion not enough to help us win the league as a starting 11

Well he got a mention from me. I gave him MOM, no less.

His performance wasn't out of this world - he just stood out like a sore thumb because he actually carried the ball forwards, with genuine purpose. It was a breath of fresh air amid the ****ing ****e served up by the rest.

As you say, credit where it's due and he needs to keep it up. There's been a big improvement from Pennant in recent months, but I feel he's still got some way to go.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

I think that he could be a very good player for us but, a lot of the time, seems to be playing within himself. Recently he has got better but early on he rarely attacked the byline, instead pinging in crosses from too far out or cutting inside. I like to see wingers run with the ball and I just don't think he does enough of it. I would agree with comments on here stating he would be a good cover but first choice? I can't see it in the long term.

A major grumble I have is that we always take Bellamy off for Pennant. Ok, I realise Bellamy works like a Trojan and is probably a bit tired at the end of most games but, everytime I have seen this substitution recently, Bellamy has looked our most dangerous player. I don't understand the logic when we are chasing a goal - am I the only one?

                        I've always like Pennant.

Glad people have finally stopped giving him stick.

He'll get stick again once his performances drop.
