According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.
Quite interesting that, it was a bit confused about the stadium, first hicks saying it was going to be designed around the kop, then the other fella (journalist?) saying he'd seen the new plans, and they weren't that different from the other plans (new stadium or anfield?), and that the kop would be central to the structure. ..
So are we having a "brand new" retro-stylee anfield type stadium or (which is what I think) a re-modelling of the current plans that gives more prominence to a Kop and has possibilities for extension.
Hicks also mentioned standing on the kop....maybe he isn't aware of the law.
Yes, I found it a bit confusing.
I think G&T have given the architects a brief to expand the capacity of the stadium but to do it within the current planning permission constraints or as close to that as possible as to not cause a delay.
If it can't be doen then they'll probably just have to accept the delay. I'm fairly sure they haven't decided on a final plan yet though, they're just working with ideas.

whats confusing?
he said the outside was futuristic looking and the inside modeled on anfield(current) focusing on the kop as it does now.
im getting deja vu

thats waht i gathered too
So its going to be like, two/three tiers in all the stands and just the one in the kop hopefully, with the seats as close to the pitch as is allowed by FIFA/UEFA guidelines.
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'
"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

The English interviewer was a ****ing prick, didn't have a clue about anything.
Overall Hicks came across very well, looks like we're getting a big TV screen though! Which is ****.
I liked the talk of Hicks building "The greatest football stadium in the world", which presumably means ripping the current design and creating something massive and unique. But I was then totally confused by the vibe that followed...there will be minimal changes to the design ? What the ****.

I think what he meant was, inside, I will be similar to the current anfield look, but just bigger with the kop as its stand out feature, and on the outside it will be much more modern.

It is his name! Just imagine him owning a team here
The other guy - the football commentator is a bit of a tit - "I don't think football fans worry about the history going, if they do, they are sad" - ****in nob!
obviously a Chav supporter

I have just worked out how to get 80,000 people into the existing new stadium design without making bigger. You make one end - the Kop, a standing terrace terrace.
This isn't as bonkers as it sounds as there is a growing lobby within supporters groups wanting a return to standing. Most people stand all the way through games anyway.
Whether this could get past people like the Hillsborough support group would be another matter.
Obviously Hicks and Gillette won't be saying things that we as supporters won't like. He's clearly still on a PR mission.
When everything is finalized and we have that stadium out of the ground, add the fact that we're challenging for the best players in the world year in year out, that's when I'll be laughing.

they obviously play the PR game very well, but it was interesting to hear that Tom has admitted he has made mistakes in the past a la Rodriguez and he now is a great listener. sure Rafa will guide them correctly in world dominance
Surely they must look at parry though and think he isnt very good at his job??? he had given the green light on a stadium design that was 7yrs old and he has hardly taken the club forward at all......how can his job be safe?
