Why would we consider selling 1/5th of a record breaking defence and why would we sell to them cunts?
It is absolutely bollox and a sneaky ploy by Moe to unsettle us today and through out the next 3 weeks. These next few weeks are important to the Chavs imo. New players and a new system and it will take a few weeks to bed them in i reckon and seen as how Moe thinks we have the best chance to catch them, then they need us to **** up too in this period. They know that we have a solid defence and wont leak too many goals and we now have power and pace up-front with the iminent arrival of Kuyt and Bellers, so what is the best way to make sure their in the driving seat come the end of August when the transfer window is shut? unsettle Rockets and our defence with a bull**** transfer rumour whilst they will have someone in place for LB come 31st Aug for sure.

If that £15m means we get Kuyt AND Alves, we've got Aurelio, Warnock, Finnan and Carra who can all play LB, and that's without signing anyone else. Weren't we looking at the 17 yr old lad at West Brom (free kick specialist), Bale? That £15m may also allow us to get the Argie lad Higuian, who's reputedly available for £8m.

sorry Colin, i dont mean to be an argumentative **** but its bull**** mate.
The Chavs are about as close to bidding 15m for Rockets as we are to bidding 100m for Ronaldinho. Its a bull**** ploy to unsettle us imo and i wouldnt sell to them dirty ****tards anyway.
And as for Stevie W, Finnan and Carra playing at LB, they are no were near as consistent and effective as Rockets. One of Rockets main assets is his ability to run up the flanks, something which Warnock and Carra cant do as good as JAR. You would also leave gaping holes in the possitions were Finnan and Carra occupy. I personally think its too risky us putting Carra in at LB and putting Palleta or Hobbs at CB just yet and am not sure about Krommy at RB in place of Finnan, as for Aurellio, lets give him a little time before we start making assumptions that he can do as good if not better job than JAR. He could turn out to be a bag of **** in the Prem and we would be looking for a LB ourselves by Xmas.

I agree Carra is not as good a LB as Riise. But Riise is no great LB, and although Warnock is a good tackler, he often gets caught out of position. Aurelio we can't comment on, as we haven't seen him enough yet. But Finnan can, has (and does) often play there even at international level. Alves can play RB, so there would be no hole there, even if we played Alves and Pennant (which I don't believe we would). I'm not suggesting we look to sell Riise, but at £15m we should rip their hands off, IF TRUE. I agree it's more likely to be a crap story put out at this time, but my post is about, if it is indeed true.

With the way we're going to play this season with genuine width (Pennant & Gonzalez), there won't be as much need for JAR to go bombing on as he has done previously, although I do like to see overlapping fullbacks.

So if £15m is on the table, I'd take it. I'll be interested to see how much Riise plays 1-2 months into the season, when Aurelio is fit.
